Not a very good first half. We look great AT TIMES in the 2nd half. We had a 7-0 run to start the 2nd half and a 12-0 run later. Too many minutes between without any points though.

We played a very nice 2nd half overall. Proud of how we finished the game.

Rahshon has definitely been struggling to fit in. I liked him taking it to the hole, but he just needs to go up and try to dunk it rather than trying that spin move.

I really liked GM's halftime adjustments. I just wish we could come out with a gameplan that would work in the first half instead of waiting until we are down by 10.

decent second half but to win games you have to make FTs and you have to make wide open shot, and you have to not get pounded on the boards.

There were at least 5 good dribble penitrations kicked out to wide open guy, followed by a clunker of a shot. It seemed like every time KU kicked it out ot a guard it was instant 3 pointer.

We played alright. I honestly think that Kansas is the toughest team for us matchup wise in the Big 12. Next would be A&M.

Much of the same. We had solid D (most of the time) but just can't score enough. We settle for long jumpers while Kansas is pounding it down low and getting close looks at the basket. Brackins looks frustrated and needs to have a good game in one of the last games to help him see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Garrett looked great and made me add 1 or 2 more wins to next year's prediction from this game alone!

I enjoyed watching this second half. I was a little disappointed with Jiri's (mainly FT) play the second half, but he had a great first half. I thought Wes had a great game -seemed to force things a couple times, but I was very pleased with his performance. Gerrett played extremely well and I am excited to see how he improves this off-season. Haluska played well, can't make them all but he showed tremendous effort and made some nice shots- good to see him make some contact and draw the foul behind the arc in the final minutes. Peterson just plays solid. I think Brackins struggled in this one but I saw him do some good things towards the end and that gives me some hope. Clark made some nice plays but it always seemed to be followed by a nice Kansas play, just bad luck and good play by KU. Good to see we didn't fold when we were down by 19. Go Cyclones!

ISU MBB player break down following KU game (LONG)

Diante Garrett - This kid has all the necessary tools to become something special. Currently 1 of 2, maybe even 1, players that can create his own shot. Once he figures out when to drive, when to pull up, and when to get the ball down low he could be a solid PG or off guard in the B12. He also double teamed the bigs well and seemed to have quick hands all night

Brian Petersen - He knows athletically he isn't in the same league as the people he goes up against, but goodness gracious he's a competitor. Good spot up shooter, and probably the highest basketball IQ on our team.

Sean Haluska - See above, except add tough defense and the ability to shoot on the move.

Wesley Johnson - The kid should have been playing the 3 or 4 all season. He's not quick enough to guard the 2 and when he plays 3 and 4 he can exploit the defender by shooting the deep ball. Anyone else notice how much better he played in the second half when we moved him to the 4? He can defend better, rebound better, and exploit his defender on offense. I think next year we will see him predominantly at those positions.

Rahshon Clark - Does what he needs to do to help the team win, or in this case be competitive. Guards the most explosive guard on defense and rebounds well. Yells at team mates when he needs to and always has a smile on his face... man I'm gonna miss that kid.

Craig Brackins - Gave us some things to look forward to after Baylor, went into a slump, but is slowly working his way out of it. Had some good rebounds, played good defense for the most part, (I'll get into more detail about this later), and had a couple nice post moves.

Alex Thompson - Didn't play a lot, but is our best post defender flat out. Really hope he can develop some more post moves in the off-season as we are going to be relying on him a lot down low next year.

Jiri Hubalek - I still think he looks incredibly goofy on offense all the time, but he flat out gets it done. He draws double teams and opens up the floor for the rest of our players. He rebounds, can take deeper shots and with out him we would have little to none as far as points in the paint. If we didn't have Jiri teams would just crowd the lane and we would have absolutely no offensive rebounds when we missed, so yeah he is a huge part of "us."

I know some other guys played, but not significant enough to go into detail.

Now as far as the whole team is concerned. Our post players are not good at help defense. Thompson is the only one that understands how to slide over and stop penetration... Craig and Jiri both seem to struggle there. Our guards are definitely improving. As we get more talent in those positions we will be able to penetrate more and hopefully we have a shooter (c'mon Lucca don't let me down) to kick it out to. Keep your head up everybody we played better than a stacked Kansas team in the second half.... just not better than they played on us in the first. Did I mention how much I miss Jared Homan..... :biglaugh::biglaugh:

Keep your heads up CycloneFanatics.... the future looks so bright I need to put my shades on.

How can you not like where Mac is taking this program. I just love the way he got in the face of the refs numerous times to let them know of his displeasure. Then he actually comes out halftime with a different lineup than the beginning of the game. I think that was the key to the run at the beginning of the half.

All things considered, I thought we played well. We obviously need to shoot a higher percentage and rebound better, but we don't have the personnel for that this year.

We did a good job of taking care of the ball, and we didn't just mail it in after they got up by 20+. We definitely need to guard the 3 point line better.

I just can't figure Craig Brackins out. As tall as he is, I'd think he'd compliment Jiri well, but he just doesn't seem to muscle his way to the basket. His rebounding is almost nill, but nobody on this teams seems do that too well.

I like Craig and he's obviously in a slump, but when is he going to get mad and do something?
