Josh Cunningham

So a little reminder; what is currently known/believed regarding Cunningham's recruitment? Some think he's going to OU. He has a visit to Creighton this weekend. Have we had visits/scheduled visits of any sort?

He is scheduled for a visit in late October (26th I believe). I think we are last on his visit list so let's hope he doesn't commit to OU when he visits there as they are perceived to be the favorite. If he commits there, I am betting we press for Benjamin to come unless he commits to us first.
 
I WANT CUNNINGHAM!! Mainly so I can call him Richie....(I am not that old, but I am that dorky).
 
Joe Burton is down to three schools. Oklahoma, Okie State and Oregon. He is a 4 star SF. If OU pulls him, this would be good for us with Cunningham.
 
Creighton just picked up a different 6'-7" kid. Don't know his game to see if that takes a "spot" or not.

Leon Gilmore...appears VERY similar.

Quite frankly I think if he comes here he'll be a Wesley Johnson style PF for us, which means he'll still play on the wing a lot and do a ton of rebounding.
 
How the hell is OU pulling 4 stars in the first place? I know Lon Krueger is a GREAT coach, but OU has no basketball support, their fans do not care. Why would these kids want to play in a half full gym every night? ISU has a more passionate fan base, a better culture.

IMHO, at least some of it has to do with the fact that they are a national power in football - name recognition. Certainly this doesn't guarantee that you will get top recruits, but it definitely helps to have that NATIONAL name recognition. (BTW, I do realize that this argument doesn't explain it fully - case in point: Knebraska has never been able to sustain a good Bkball program despite their FB success pre-2000).
