White Helmets

We may not have white helmets but we will be wearing throwbacks sometime this year.

We need to do the Jack Trice throwbacks for the 90th anniversary of his tragic death (10/8/23). And, we just happen to play a nationally televised home game versus Texas on October 3rd - nice timing!

I would say either Texas or Iowa would have to be when we wear them.

WHy would we have white helmets. We need to stick to our identity. Our tradition. Kids these days want consistancy, they dont want flash or "the next big thing". They watch teams like oregon in the national championship game with disgust on their faces. Saying "look at those idiots, 240 uniform combos....what the h. No way would I go there, thats why Oregon is a bottom feeder".

Does Notre Dame have alt unis? Does Wisconsion? Does Nebraska? No they dont. They have tradition. The are building their brand on one uniform concept. Thats what we need to do. White helmets? More like leather helmets. Thats where its at. Tradition.

I guess we are probably due for another infamous and mythical white helmet thread again. Always seems to pop up again a couple months or so before football season starts.

Before the crowd comes here and says "but everyone ******* when ISU proposed having a white helmet!" The people wanting a white helmet want it as an alternate for a game or two. No one is saying ISU should switch to white helmets every game.

Exactly. Just wear them once or twice. Not a permanent change to the "brand" just more helmets. We have gold, cardinal and white jerseys and pants. Time to throw in the helmets!

Notre Dame, Wisconsin and Nebraska ALL have alternate uniforms.

I think I missed the jimlad in this statement lol. Because it is the exact opposite of what you are saying and Wisconsin, Nebraska, and ND all have alternate uniforms.
