DeAndre Kane visiting next week

Unless SDW kills it at SF, it forces us to play Ejim primarily at the 3 which might be fine but Amardi and Gibson will have to play great to make up for that loss. Fred will not play a 6'4" exclusively at the 3.

You need to get over this 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 stuff. Royce's year, Fred did not play a "SF". It was 3 guards with Babb, Scotty and Allen.

He plays matchups not a specific person at the 3. He played a lot of games with Mcgee, Lucious and Babb out there at the same time. Babb was 6'5" but he didn't always guard the opposing teams 3.

I do agree with you though. I'm high on Hogue and thought he would be a nice addition on the defensive side plus rebounding.

Here is what I heard today. We are going to get Kane and one of the Jucos (I won't say who) isn't coming. Take it for what its worth. Pretty good source. If I am wrong don't chastise me.

even if you are making it up, I bet you're right.

Would we trade Deandre Kane's 1 year for Hogues 2? I think Kane would be a key player next year, but I'm not sure if I would do that. Obviously just speculating.

I am just assuming we will play with a smaller lineup than our B12 mates. If that's the case, a tall small forward can make up a lot. Babb was still bigger and taller than anyone you are suggesting we play at the 3 with exception to Ejim.

Another year of making the NCAA will do alot for the stud class of 2014. There will probably be another 5th year guy we go after next year as well.

i think it's pretty obvious who vet is referring to.

Maybe Fred will figure out how to do things the RIGHT way after this year ;)

I've read the last 3 pages and it's gone from one poster saying what he's heard, with a certain amount of vagueness, to others 'knowing' what is going to happen and discussing as though it's a done deal. Did I miss something, or are we still speculating here? I'm confused.

Now I think you have no idea what you are talking about. Hogue is a quenicential 3 and driving the lane is what he does, just not a good outside shooter. I like both guys too but losing Hogue is not good for next years team period.

It stinks to lose any of the JuCos, but if Kane is here (which would be a huge boost to our NCAA chances) Armadi would be the biggest loss. He is the most versatile defender. There is more redundancy in a Kane-Hogue combo than a Kane-Armadi combo. Also, I would love to have to be able to offer someone like Babb...
