NBA: *** NBA Playoffs Thread V2.0 ***

These are the worst NBA playoffs in many a moon.

I think NCAA BB suckage is seeping into the big game.

Why does everyone give Durantula a pass when Westbrook got hurt but since LeBron couldn't win in Cleveland he sucked? Durant had a heck of a lot more talent around him even without Westbrook than LeBron had in Cleveland.

Would you rather have Kevin Martin and Serge Ibaka or Booby Gibson and Zydrunas Ilgauskas?

Well first, it is different when you lose a star player in the playoffs and having to adjust on the fly to playing with out him.

Secondly, Ilguaskas, Mo Williams, Delonte West, Anderson Varejo. Compared to Reggie Jackson, Thabo Sefolosha, Serge Ibaka, and Perkins. I wouldn't call that "a heck of a lot more talent."

I could argue that West and Thabo are a push, Mo was better than Reggie, Ilguaskas and current Perkins is a push, and Ibaka is better than Varejo was, but Ibaka disappeared once Westbrook went out.

I don't know how to respond to this if you actually think this. Take Durant off the team and add LeBron and the Thunder have three or four titles by now, even without Westbrook.

Not with Cleveland LeBron. And even with Current LeBron, I don't think they would beat LA in 2009, 2010, Boston in 2008, Dallas in 2011... They probably would have beaten Miami on 2012, assuming LeBron couldn't play on both teams (and Durant was on Miami?)

EHhhhhh. Theres not a ton of talent on that team not named Durant and Westbrook. They would struggle to score 60 points without those two.

which one isn't in the NBA and which one will be after this year? hmm... Durant had way more talent on his team. Only 3 of the Cavs besides LeBron are still playing (Mo, Gibson and Varejao). That Cavs team had a majority that either retired or wasn't in the NBA after that season because they weren't good enough.

Kevin Martin, Ibaka, Collison,Thabo, even Perkins will be in the NBA after this year. Not close tbh.

Clevelands lineup in 2009-10

PG- Mo (still plays, was decent)
SG- Anthony Parker (average, 8 PPG)
SF- LeBron
PF- Antwan Jamison (good, not in his prime, starting to decline)
C- Shaq (not close to being in prime)
------------------------------------------
C- Varejao (wasn't great back then, is better now)
PF- Hickson (was very young back then, now he's a solid player, not back then though)
SF- Moon (huh?)
SG- West (out of the league, waived by T'Wolves right after LeBron left)
PG- Daniel Gibson (ok spot up shooter)
C- Big Z (after his prime, retired shortly after)
PF- Powe (not in NBA anymore)
SF- Jawad Williams (not in NBA)
SG- Danny Green (was a rookie, decent now)
PG- Telfair (bust, is bad)

Shaq past his prime was more valuable than current Perkins. Antawn played for the Lakers this year. While he was past his prime in Cleveland, he wasn't close to bad. Mo was an all star in 2009, with LeBron. Varejo was a good player in with LeBron. He didn't lead the league in rebounding like he was this year, but he was still a good player.

I notice how you are saying they were good players WITH lebron. Weird how they weren't as good after they stopped playing with him. And Shaq only played one season there.

I was saying with LeBron because people talked about players past their prime or not good yet. My counter was they were still good with LeBron.

Pacers couldn't finish tonight. Hope George Hill isn't out for an extended period. Indy really misses him out there.
