Wiggins to Kansas

Sorry if I misinterpreted. I just see a lot of people praying for every other Big 12 team to stay down so ISU can just rack up easier conference wins. It would be different if we had been in on Wiggins and had lost him to KU, but since we weren't I guess I'm just excited to see our team get a crack at him. Way more fun to get wins over KU when the naysayers can't say it was a down year for the Jayhawks.
Whenever we play Kansas, we play the refs also. I have no sympathy whatsoever for Kansas. When they start playing fair, I will lighten up.

Here is my guess:

PG: Tharpe (JR)
SG: Selden (FR)
SF: Wiggins (FR)
PF: Ellis (SO)
C: Embid (FR)

Key Reserves:

Guards: Frankamp (FR), Greene (FR)
Post: Lucas (RSFR), Traylor (SO)

I'm not sure if Embid will actually start. He's a 5 star recruit, but he is a raw talent. So it could be that Traylor starts or maybe this Memphis transfer Black if we get him.

Without Wiggins, I'd guess that Frankamp would start at the 2 and Selden would play the 3 spot. But Frankamp will still get plenty of playing time. Maybe Greene is the one who will lose the most minutes.

According to this formula, this was KU's best recruiting class ever (or at least since they started ranking recruits 30 years ago) even before we landed Wiggins. With Wiggins, it is the 3rd best recruiting class ever by any team. Kentucky's 2013 class is rated #1, and UNC's 2006 class is rated #2.

I'm glad Iowa State is good again. Our games this past season were intense. Those bad calls at the end of the game in Ames overshadowed just what an incredible game that was. When I was a kid, my dad used to take me to all of KU's away games in the conference. Traveling to Hilton was always my favorite.

Yeah, Bill has so much talent to work with next year it's crazy. I'd rather be in his shoes than Coach Cal's next year

Am i the only one who already thinks Wiggins will be one of the most hate KU players by Iowa St in a long time. Not just because he's got insane skills but he appears to be very very cocky

I'd rather beat Kansas when they have top talent then when they suck. Welcome to the conference Andrew Wiggins! You will LOVE Hilton Coliseum.

As a side note, anyone see Kentucky's class? Holy living ****! That is morally reprehensible.

Just watched his video:

1. Amazing hops. His head is up near the rim all the time. On one play, he missed the rebound dunk the first time, but went right back up and dunked it on the second hop.

2. Bump-able. On lots of his plays in the air, he is getting bumped, but maintaining body control. This was one of the best features of Jordan and is one of the best features of LeBron.

3. Spin move. He is really quick with the dribble and spin move (though only goes one way). His defenders don't even know where he is on those moves.

So, how to defend him?

1. Keep a body on him so that he can't step into his jump.

2. Because he likes to go to the hoop and dunk, he may be vulnerable to charges (and flops).

3. Off-side help may also pick up some charges and strips of the ball on his spin moves. Hope he doesn't learn to pass or spin the other way.

I'm really looking forward to watching this guy play.

I'm even more excited about watching him lose to us. Three times, if we're lucky.

I think Calipari probably has the better roster to work with for next year. But I wouldn't trade recruiting classes with UK. We have a nice mix of talent. We have the OAD superstar who will put us in contention for next year, but we also have 5 really good players who will stick around and keep us in contention for the next several years.

Three? How about four times - which would almost have to include an NCAA regional final or later.

I've seen on the Kansas boards that a lot of people think Selden might actually start at the point

I have a feeling that Conner Frankamp is going to be a player that every other fanbase in the big 12 will hate. It will be for the same reason that we hated Keiton Paige and everyone else seemed to hate Scotty
