Wiggins to Kansas

This is awesome... I love that he comes to Hilton.

I always wished KD would have made it here when he played for Texas.

my reaction, granted im day drinking.

Sorry if I misinterpreted. I just see a lot of people praying for every other Big 12 team to stay down so ISU can just rack up easier conference wins. It would be different if we had been in on Wiggins and had lost him to KU, but since we weren't I guess I'm just excited to see our team get a crack at him. Way more fun to get wins over KU when the naysayers can't say it was a down year for the Jayhawks.

This. It just makes it more significant when we beat them in Ames ... and Lawrence ... and Kansas City.

people are acting like Kansas doesn't always have these level of players. Top 4 program in the country. We have beat them with lottery picks and NBA stars. This really isn't anything new.!

From what I've been hearing, yes this is different. He's not your typical one n done.

Like Durant, Beasly or Melo type of taking over a team and changing the whole season.

He is not a Barnes, Kid-Gilchrest, or McLemore. He's a couple steps up from all these.

Agreed. From what I've seen, he's on that level or higher. I'm expecting him to be as good as Kobe or LeBron would have been had then gone to college. Can't wait to see him throw 45 on Iowa if they meet in that early tournament.

Is this kid suppose to be better than McLemore? If he is suppose to be this good, then I'm glad we will likely only see him for one year.

yes, he's the best recruit since LeBron according to multiple people.

I hope they play Iowa and beat them by 30 and then we rock the house in Hilton and beat them on national tv....wouldnt be out of the realm actually. Even though i hate KU and am ****** they are so happy itll be good for us to play them and beat them. However i dont know who will actually be able to gaurd him .....i think facing a team like this next year with the weapons theyll have would be a good reason to have a defensive mind like Doc Sadler on staff. Maybe SDW gaurding him with his size and length?

Big 12 yaaaay my ***....last place i really wanted him to go was KU but hopefully we knock them off

I think if you believe in yourself, like next year's team probably will, you want to play the best. I know I would if I was playing. I hope the players are thinking: "Bring it on, KU!"

Plus, it will keep another Big XII team in the spotlight and make beating them that much sweeter. I think it is a losers mentality to hope the player goes elsewhere.

Plus, very little is more satisfying than rattling a highly-touted Freshman in Hilton. I've seen it many times before and that deer in the headlights look when even the old people are screaming in your ear or at the refs is priceless! I'm looking forward to the opportunity to do it to him!

For the record, Durant's Texas team finished 3rd in the Big XII and got bounced in the second round of the NCAAs. Although that's less on Durant and much more on ol' Ricky Barnes. :biglaugh:

I'll be honest, this signing doesn't change my opinion of the Big XII very much. Kansas is still highly talented but inexperienced. Oklahoma State is slightly less talented, but the roster has a year of the conference wars under its belt. If Wiggins isn't every bit as good as advertised, Kansas isn't winning the conference, IMO--and even if he is as good as advertised, that's no guarantee of a championship.

As it relates to Iowa State, it's really no-lose for us. If Wiggins and KU beat us, well, they're uber-talented and we're in a quasi-transition year. Our young kids will improve, while Wiggins will be prepping for the draft one year from today. If we beat KU, even if it's just once in three tries, we get all the "shock the world" cred again.

McLemore was a 4 star and #34 in his class so yeah he'll have much higher expectations than McLemore did

This is good for the conference. And makes the appeal of the big 12 much better for top recruits. Should be fun watching him in Hilton next year.
Hopefully next yeah ISU gets a huge commit like this in the form of Vaughn

I am betting Hogue will be our best defender next season and at 6'6", our best bet to contain this guy.

The Kansas game at Hilton is always the game I look forward to most in basketball. As far as I'm concerned, the better Kansas is, the bigger the game is, and that is a good thing.

I really wanted this kid to go to FSU, just from the standpoint to show other top recruits its okay not to go one of the blue bloods. Likely the most talented team Bill Self has had at kansas.

I said the whole time I thought KU was the team to beat no matter if Smart came back or if Wiggins went to KU. He now has 5 players in the top 50 and 3 players in the top 15 coming in. Would be the #1 recruiting class most years
