Really hope Larry's squad first beats the **** out of Mizzou & has a nice run in the tourney. I really wish we could of hung on to him, but then again, that means Fred never would of happened. On the what if's side, I do wonder just how much further LE could of taken us.

Its good to see Larry doing well, he paid the price for his poor behavior here and deserves to have some success as he is a good coach.

Go get 'em Larry

Not the Missouri incident specifically. But they did mention his struggles with alcohol and the fact that it caused him to lose a coaching job over it.

I miss LE, dude can flat out coach.

Please, don't get me wrong, I agree with you. But, at ISU, it was time for him to go or shape up. I feel bad for what happened to him and the ISU program after his departure, but it's obvious that bad things were starting to happen with him at the helm. We were on the verge of being a basketball powerhouse, then the first round loss in the conference tourney, then the loss to you know who and whammo, quickly it was time for Larry to move on. I'm sorry that I am still a little bitter. I'm glad he's got his **** in order, but honestly, a lot of ISU basketball woes lie on his shoulders. We literally were on the verge of Basketball dominance when he ****ed it all up.

They said that Larry said he wanted to end his career at CSU. Larry is an amazing coach and I hope he has a lot of success at CSU before he is done.

I would love it if Larry could get some sort of revenge by sending Zoo home early

I honestly believe that LE doesn't really feel like he wants or needs any revenge. Some ISU fans miss him, others hate him for the fiasco, but LE seems completely at ease with the events of his past. Listening to him, I think he is honestly happy.

It was great seeing him look so calm at half. I think he needs to switch from 16 diet cokes a day to water though haha.

My problem with the whole fiasco is that had our AD-who-shall-not-be-named (screw it: Vandeveldemort) could have stood by the guy, given him the help he needed, and had a coach-for-life, a la Fennelly. Instead, he cuts the guy loose. It's a testament to LE that he's come out of it the way he did.

He lost everything, family, job, house, respect.
People still crack jokes about an addiction that would have ended most people. He got back on the saddle, and I think it's great to see him coaching again.

I was ****** when Larry got fired. Yes what he did was wrong but it was not against any rules. He deserved punishment but someone who won 2 conference titles, a conference tournament, AP coach of the year, and about won us a national championship shouldn't have been fired. I really hate BVDV. Our athletic teams were so successful in the years of him being AD but he did nothing to help sustain the success. Thank God we have JP now and he resurected ISU athletics.

BVD could have stood by the guy all he wanted, but if Larry wasn't ready to admit he had a problem there wasn't much that could be done. Also, BVD was such an incompetent buffoon that I don't think he had a very good relationship with any of the coaches in Ames much less Larry. BVD certainly didnt have the sort of relationship with LE where I think an intervention would have been successful.

I'd argue that BVDs biggest failure was not addressing the issue sooner. I heard plenty of stories about LEs behavior around Ames long before the final hammer dropped. LE was enabled in Ames for so long that I have my doubts that his recovery would have been successful even if BVD tried to intervene and back him up. The parting has been good for both ISU hoops and for LE. Although I do find myself wondering what that Blalock, Stinson, and Homan team would have looked like with LE coaching.
