Recruit Lists v2.0

I've been getting asked a lot about the Iowa State signee from Onalaska (Wisc.) lately and I suspect a lot of it has to do with him scoring 50 points in less than three quarters over the weekend.
The answer is that I don't yet know what will happen with the 6-foot-4 sharpshooter in the rankings. A 50-point game is impressive, but we see a lot of scoring outbursts from highly ranked players, and generally when somebody goes off for that many points that quick it can be fairly assumed that the competition was awful. Don't get me wrong, I'm not taking anything away from him. Thomas is as good a jump-shooter as there is in the class of 2013 and he went from complete unknown to No. 58 nationally with his performance. Could he go up? Sure. But that's something that we'll take a look at once we have a chance to review film from him and others. I would say this, he certainly seems to be backing up what he accomplished over the summer as a senior.

Funny, I bet if he were committed to UK, his rankings would go up. Just sayin.

Having said that, I think that it will make him unconsciously move them down his list

It is only a mistake if we have to pass on a better player for 2013. Fretting over one scholarship more than one year out is pointless in CBB today...likely we have 4 or 5 scholarships to give out for 2014.

Interested to see your math here. I have us losing BuBu, Amardi, and Melvin...not trying to be the "funny guy," I was just wondering where you were getting the extra scholarship(s) at.

Not sure where they will come from, but I figure with 500 D1 transfers per year, it's safe to assume at least one will be from us.

A few evening tidbits for you:

2014 Jared Terrell listed offers from Cincy, Miami, Providence, Boston College, St. John's, Tennessee, Rutgers & Temple in a local article posted today. He also indicated that Texas has recently shown interest.

Also, Rashad Vaughn listed offers of Iowa State, Kentucky, Louisville, Tennessee, Maryland, KU, Florida, Syracuse & Minnesota along w/ UNC interest via Reggie Rankin of ESPN. This is essentially his list from what I've seen/heard from several people. Sounds like Vaughn expects to get an offer from UNC the next time they are able to watch him play.

An assistant coach at Robbinsdale Cooper has told Travis Hines that Vaughn has not cut his list. A technicality for the most part, he has been fairly consistent in listing those teams that were mentioned previously.

Thinking outloud here... Maybe we have not been actively recruiting him lately, so he didn't mention us?

Would guess this is true. We don't want a 2014 class with no big men, which is what we would have if we got Terrell, Custer, and Vaughn

I found a liitle more on Cheick Diallo with a short video.

Cheick Diallo: On Saturday, we covered the defensive prowess that the 6-foot-9 sophomore center, a four-star prospect from Our Savior New American out of New York City, has. In OSNA's second game, Diallo looked much more comfortable on the offensive end, showing better touch when finishing and a more physical style of posting up. Diallo was able to knock down a couple of mid-range jumpers, with his opponents playing well off him from 15 feet, and even was able to get a spinning right-handed hook-shot to fall in traffic. With the advances in his offensive game, it is only matter of time until Diallo becomes a dominant prospect; with only consistent offensive performances and added strength standing in his way.

Thomas and Vaughn have been exchanging tweets today. Just sayin'. Nice to know they have a relationship of some sort.
