I think the Big 10 should hold off on adding Rutgers. See what happens with FSU and Clemson and if they jump ship, take a run at North Carolina or Virginia.
I think they'll do that after rutgers. 14 isnt a great stopping point.

What are you talking about? rebecacy was spot on about OU's president bluffing on their move to the PAC as a power play to get Tejas to agree to some concessions.
What makes you think OU was bluffing? Just because rebecacy said so? There are still rumors floating around that OU wants into the Pac-12. I think a reason why these rumors aren't getting more traction is because they don't contain viable specifics about how OU intends to get around the GOR.
Was he? It just as easily looks like the PAC, which as i recall required unanimous agreement to expand, couldnt get the votes to do so. A lot of reasons not to. Loss of traditional games that many existing pac members were already complaining about. Colorado wouldnt want to lose the california play-time it had just jumped for. Not willing to concede on the LHN. Etc. No proof was ever offered that there was any bluff going on. I think they were fully ready to go, but the PAC didn't have the votes.

yes but 16 is and you don't want to limit yourself. I'd rather have GaTech, Virginia, and UNC. It's not like Rutgers would say no a year or two from now.
Maybe he just made a wild-*** guess that happened to be right, but I don't think a person makes such a specific and bold claim without some knowledgable basis for doing so.
Plus, the guy has credibility and actually is well-connected, which separates him from 99% of us (self included). If you doubt this, look him up.
rebecacy predicted, almost a month before it happened, that OU was just bluffing as leverage...and he was very adamant about it

Apparently a press conference at 3:00 PM.
Let the fun begin!
He also told us:
The FOF was being built west of the bergstrom building.
The tunnel would go directly to the field with a door
Tony Franklin would be our new OC
The athletic department was planning very soon to announce the south endzone (years ago now)
Well connected, absolutely. I've met him. In person he's a great guy. On message boards however his track record isnt as stellar. Without this OU thing, i'm not sure any of his predictions came true. And there's more evidence than not that it wasnt OU bluffing, but the PAC deciding it didnt want to expand. And if OU WAS bluffing, it certainly backfired as the continued instability was cited by Missouri as a reason for leaving (though at the end they were the only instability)
But this is a thread about conference realignment, which is one area in which rebecacy has a pretty solid track record. Ockam's razor: is it more likely that rebecacy made a crazy guess straight out of left field, stuck with it for a month, and happened to be right...or that he actually had some knowledge that this was OU's strategy all along?
He's on gobig12.net, I've enjoyed his additions in the football forums.Agreed..CF is a lot more boring without e11en, Rebecacy, and ugh..hate to say it..Cyber we miss you

Missouri was our best friend.
The FOF will be on the west side of the IPF.
His info, on the surface, was okay but the details were usually far from correct. That's what happens when your info is second-hand at best. The original source of his information (knowing who he's worked for) would be a solid source but when the old game of telephone happens the info changes quite a bit.
So, are you like his nephew or something? Seems to me you're going to a lot of trouble to defend a blowhard with a shaky (at best) track record on predictions, who hasn't posted in months. Are you acting as his surrogate? Is he feeding you lines via instant messenger? If so, please tell old Uncle Rebecca and Aunt Trophy Wife "hi" from all of us, when you see him for Thanksgiving. Tell him that we miss him, but only on days that don't end in "Y"
