Some of you guys need to rethink how powerful the grant of rights is. Not only does the Big 12 get to keep their TV money, but it means any potential future conference doesn't get that TV money. So adding a Big 12 school would actually cost another conference (cf Pac12) money since they'd add more mouths and have the same pie of revenue to feed all the mouths with.

Since the #1 factor in conference realignment is money, no Big 12 schools are going anywhere for at least 7 or 8 years.

we always think these huge buyouts and length of time until departure are a big deal but the teams always figure it out

If we expand, it's in this order:

Florida St
Clemson
Louisville
Another ACC school

Cincinnati will not be added - they add nothing.

BYU can go **** themselves because they showed no interest when we really needed them. Plus expanding west does absolutely nothing for the conference except jack up travel costs because they would be on a island much more deserted than ISU ever has been.

Here is what I would like to see from the Big 12.
1) FSU
2) Clemson
Then we maybe get ND to bring their non-football sports over.

If we feel the need to go to 14 (Order that I would prefer we go)
1) Pitt
2) Va Tech
3) Miami
4) Ga Tech
5) Louisville

Keep a spot open for ND. No reason to go over 14 until they join a conference.

ND isn't exactly on board. They are only partial members. Really no different than what get were with the Big East. And we are seeing how much stability that added.

They do add another time zone... which means an additional football game time slot. Also, every tie-wearing bicyclist in the country would tune in for games. I'm not sure how many Mormons there are in the country, but there has to be a lot.

Do not want BYU. Just fine with ten teams, but will not be upset expanding just do not like BYU.

I was just playing devil's advocate. I don't have a dog in the fight. As long as ISU has a good home I'll be happy.

I selfishly want byu, we'll tailgate in slc and take a bus down though.

byu has high end video production equipment, provides programming for espn with their exclusive deal, has a larger stadium than us and a lot of other bcs schools, and has a national, if not international, base.

They also have a talent cap of sorts, so someone we can compete with for sure.

When it got to the level he was taking it there's no reason they should have to. It says something that he's been banned from every major Cyclone forum through the years.
