Kentucky is a completely untapped market for CFB. Louisville fans would be hugely excited to get out of the Big East. I've been in the L'ville area for 6 months and everyone I have talked to about it would be excited about joining the B12

Why don't we go to 12 teams, and play 11 conference games? ISU could play Iowa in the one non conference and then we get a title game and still get 2 games in Texas every year. I'd rather Florida State and Miami so that way we can get more access to Florida players on top of what we already have. Clemson I could care less about honestly. And while I like Louisville as a team that we could actually compete against (I'm all for money but if we aren't winning, I could care less) I think that is where the Louisville and Cinci suggestions are coming from. I'm all for Louisville and Florida State. Adds one we can beat and add money we can split up.

Heck, go to 11 conference games and still don't play a conference championship.

They'd be excited about getting out of the Big East and joining a premier football conference? Color me surprised.

sweet, just when i think we're safe here we go again

if the big 10 goes to 14 that leaves the big 12 and pac 12 as the two major conferences without 14 teams and you know the pac 12 will immediately target the big 12 again

can we survive w/o texas and ou as a major conference?

or even worse, will the pac 12 officially start the 16 team movement?

theres only so many teams left to choose from in that scenario and the big 12 would be most vulnerable

Posts from 2 years ago.

also the new big 10 tv contract is gonna be massive if they do take in those teams as well

its sad that thats the only reason they are looking to expand but delaney knows what he is doing when it comes to money

Read up on the Grant of Rights.
Texas and Oklahoma can go wherever they want. They just leave their TV money behind.

The Big 12 would not be vulnerable. We've solved that problem.
The Big East would die.
The Big ten would be bloated.
The SEC might bloat further.
The Pac 12 is pretty much stuck where it is.

Anyone that seriously thinks that OU and Texas wouldn't be able to negotiate a buyout for less than the the full GOR is kidding themselves.

Everything is negotiable.

im not convinced

theoretically what if the sec was to poach 2 acc teams and the acc had to expand and looked at adding wvu and louisville, do you think wvu would rather be in the big 12 and travel to schools nowhere near them if they could rejoin half their old conference?

and we know the pac 12 has no problems going after texas

the big east was already dead prior to this

Some of you guys need to rethink how powerful the grant of rights is. Not only does the Big 12 get to keep their TV money, but it means any potential future conference doesn't get that TV money. So adding a Big 12 school would actually cost another conference (cf Pac12) money since they'd add more mouths and have the same pie of revenue to feed all the mouths with.

Since the #1 factor in conference realignment is money, no Big 12 schools are going anywhere for at least 7 or 8 years.

If we expand, it's in this order:

Florida St
Clemson
Louisville
Another ACC school

Cincinnati will not be added - they add nothing.

BYU can go **** themselves because they showed no interest when we really needed them. Plus expanding west does absolutely nothing for the conference except jack up travel costs because they would be on a island much more deserted than ISU ever has been.
