Bowl Projections (Week 10)

In that case, we probably don't want a return to the Pinstripe against Syracuse. Nor would we want the Music City against Tennessee.

For ease of travel, would love to end up in Dallas.

There is no way that we will not land in a Big 12 bowl. The Big 12 will not have enough teams eligible for other conference's bids. If ISU is bowl eligible, it'll be one of these bowls.

1) Fiesta - Jan. 3 @ 7:30pm on ESPN in Phoenix, AZ
2) Cotton - Jan. 4 @ 7:00pm on FOX in Dallas, TX
3) Alamo - Dec. 29 @ 5:45pm on ESPN in San Antonio, TX
4) Buffalo Wild Wings - Dec. 29 @ 9:15pm on ESPN in Phoenix, AZ
5) Holiday - Dec. 27 @ 8:45pm on ESPN in San Diego, CA
6) Meineke Car Care - Dec. 28 @ 8:00pm on ESPN in Houston, TX
7) Pinstripe - Dec. 29 @ 2:15pm on ESPN or ESPN2 in New York, NY
8) Heart of Dallas - Jan. 1 @ 11:00am on ESPNU in Dallas, TX

Tradeoff on that last bowl is that yes it is a New Year's Day bowl game, but it's on ESPNU. In fact it is the only bowl game to be on ESPNU. Every other game is on ESPN, ESPN2, CBS, FOX, or ABC.

A Houston Bowl official was at the ISU Alumni tailgate in Ft. Worth for the TCU game. He had to be impressed by the turnout there. There was a lot of Cyclone fans.

Holiday would be awesome even if only because we've never been to it.

It would be a bigger draw for fans than going back to AZ or NY.

Fiesta - Phoenix, AZ
Cotton - Dallas, TX
Alamo - San Antonio, TX
Buffalo Wild Wings (formerly Insight) - Phoenix, AZ
Holiday - San Diego, CA
Meineke Car Care - Houston, TX
Pinstripe - New York, NY
Heart of Dallas - Dallas, TX

The Big XII website does not list the Heart of Dallas. I think it was dropped from the bowls with the 10 team conference.

They have the following 2012-2013 Bowl agreements:
BCS - Tostitos Fiesta
AT&T Cotton (SEC)
Valero Alamo (Pac-12)
Buffalo Wild Wings (Big Ten)
Bridgepoint Holiday (Pac-12)
Meineke Car Care of Texas (Big Ten)
New Era Pinstripe (Big East)

That article you linked is from 2009.

Here's one from this month that confirms the Heart of Dallas Bowl: TicketCity Bowl renamed the Heart of Dallas Bowl - CBSSports.com

Odds are that this will be the only season for the Big 12 to carry eight bowl affiliations, as the article says that C-USA will take over our Heart of Dallas Bowl bid beginning in 2013. So here are the Big 12 bowl bids with opposing conferences, too (times are in Central):

1) Fiesta - Jan. 3 @ 7:30pm on ESPN in Phoenix, AZ vs. at-large BCS
2) Cotton - Jan. 4 @ 7:00pm on FOX in Dallas, TX vs. #3/#4 SEC
3) Alamo - Dec. 29 @ 5:45pm on ESPN in San Antonio, TX vs. #2 Pac-12
4) Buffalo Wild Wings - Dec. 29 @ 9:15pm on ESPN in Phoenix, AZ vs. #5 Big Ten
5) Holiday - Dec. 27 @ 8:45pm on ESPN in San Diego, CA vs. #3 Pac-12
6) Meineke Car Care - Dec. 28 @ 8:00pm on ESPN in Houston, TX vs. #6 Big Ten
7) Pinstripe - Dec. 29 @ 2:15pm on ESPN or ESPN2 in New York, NY vs. #4 Big East
8) Heart of Dallas - Jan. 1 @ 11:00am on ESPNU in Dallas, TX vs. #7 Big Ten

I would like to go to the BWW Bowl. That is on my B-Day and Phoenix is always nice that time of year.

It will be interesting to see (IF we qualify for a bowl) if we would jump a team like Okie St., TCU or West Virginia since we travel well. I could see the Pinstripe really wanting WVU because of proximity and Houston wanting TCU for the same reason. I remember the fuss when we jumped Missourah a few years ago.

My bad, thanks for the clarification. I saw the correct dates listed below for this year in that article and assumed it was current. I wonder why they wouldn't update the website. Maybe Beebe took the password with him...

If we win out and go 9-3, what will it take for us to be in one of these games?

Man, I was hoping for the Beef 'O Brady bowl!!!

I predict we land in the holiday bowl. We beat at least Kansas and West Virginia. 7-5 would get us in, I predict.
