Rushing the Field

I say we make it a point to not rush it, out of the idea that we expect to win. I don't want to rush the field until we upset an undefeated top #1 ranked team, or until we win a game to put us at 10 wins.

Oh so you mean wait until the WVU game on Nov. 23rd then?

I'm thinking maybe we can get a Utah vs. BYU situation and get to rush the field 3 times!

Yes, and when we do it better look awesome. It won't compete with the OSU rushing under the lights. That was one of the coolest ISU moments. Both halves of the stadium literally engulfed JTS and met in the middle.

Perfect.

I certainly won't rush the field but won't trip anyone that does. Assuming I get tickets. I definitely won't rush it from home.

We're coming for your goal posts:

Good luck.

Edit: Crap looks like KSU knows what to do.

MEI has installed its goal posts at about 24 schools throughout the country, such as the University of Arizona, the University of Notre Dame, Iowa State University and Boston College. Nelson said their goal posts have come down only once -- at Kansas State University a couple of years ago when fans took cables, tied them to the top of the posts and worked for about an hour to bring them down.

Good luck, not trying to brag or whatever but they are, like, indestructible man.

I normally don't care either way but if we get all the rain predicted and the game damages the field the last thing it needs is several thousand people on it.

Hadn't thought about this. Might they really try hard to prevent us from rushing if they think it might damage the field? They are pretty anal about the field on a nice, dry day.

Good luck, PurpleKitty. You probably won't get anywhere near the goalposts with the ROTC there and if you, those ******* aren't coming down. Believe me, I've tried.

I would hope we are at the point now with the program that the only time we rush would be knocking off a top 10 ranked team. If the TCU game had been in Ames I would have hoped we just celebrated in the stands and act like we felt we knew we were the better team coming in and had a chance to win that game. At some point we have to act like we've been there before and not act like every win over a ranked team is a big upset.

I kind of get irked during basketball when we rushed the court after beating Kansas last year. Historically we've been a competitive BB program and beaten a ranked KU team many times in Hilton and not rushed. Even in our down seasons I expected us to at least have a chance of beating Kansas in Hilton, we have one of the best home court advantages in the country and people know that. It's great to celebrate big wins but I hope soon people start to expect us to beat good teams on a consistent basis and not treat every win like it was a huge upset as that means our programs are getting to the level we all want them to be at.
