Rushing the Field

Probably, I was a little dumbfounded when NC State didn't rush the field after they had beat FSU. That seemed like the perfect time to rush the field.
It's a long jump down from the stands to the field in Raleigh.

It looked like it was at least a 10-12 foot drop so it would be pretty slow for fans to get over this if at all.

I would say rush only if it is a dramatic finish, e.g. OT, last minute score, etc. Then it's the emotion that rushes everyone onto the field. Otherwise, let's act like it's not that shocking. Especially if ISU wins like 24-10 or something.

anyone saying not to rush the field if we win on saturday is a freaking moron. feel free to remain in your seat, casting judgment, and choosing not to enjoy what could potentially be a monumental day in cyclone football history.

#5, one of the best college coaches of our generation (who has beaten us like a drum for years), 2nd ranked team in a row, launch us high into the top 25, and on national TV.

yea, I'd say I'm rushing.

I know, running up the score on us. Urban Meyer has no class.

Nebraska fan accusing someone of running up the score. That's rich. Wasn't it like TOSU's fifth string back on a simple run up the middle? You can't hold him under 15 yards? So much for the mighty blackshirts

I don't care whether we rush the field or not, but if we do, please do it like the OSU and Iowa game last year. Nobody rushes the field as good as ISU does and when we do it, it looks damn good on TV. The field is covered with people in a matter of seconds. It bugs me when I see a team rush the field and you can literally count each individual person running onto the field.

All that being said, we need to win first.

I would have to assume nobody rushes the field more than us...or misses more extra points.

I can think of the following since 06.
Missouri
KSU
Colorado
Iowa
Iowa
Oklahoma State

Or you know, you could act like you expect to win a conference game.

2001-The last time Nebraska beat a Top 5 team. you won't get any chances to this year
Wins over ranked teams since 2010 - Nebraska 4 - same as Iowa State, Nebraska won't get any more opportunities this year.
Road wins over ranked teams since 2010 - Nebraska 2 - one less than ISU.

nebraska - not relevant in football since 62-36 on November 23, 2001. The day Nebraska football died.

Just don't touch the field while there is still time on the clock. Utah nearly lost a game earlier this season when their fans rushed the field and their opponent got another, closer, try at a winning field goal. But the kicker doinked it off the goalpost.

I say we make it a point to not rush it, out of the idea that we expect to win. I don't want to rush the field until we upset an undefeated top #1 ranked team, or until we win a game to put us at 10 wins.

It needs to be spontaneous. Maybe on a winning field goal or some defensive stand. Something that isn't decided until the last minute. We can't be sure we win until the game is over. That is what made Iowa and oSu last year so great.

I don't think we should, just like I didn't think we should rush the court after beating Baylor in BB. However, if enough people decide to do it, we better go all in and make it look good.

I did not watch the game but I did look at the play-by-play.

Ohio State did not attempt a pass in the 4th quarter. It appears that your "black shirts" could not stop the run. Your right, next time Urban should call a punt play on first down in the 4th quarter if OSU is winning.

Screw rushing the field. We should rush Cy's Lockerroom for the commerative Gameday Championship T-shirt!
