Tuberville's thoughts on the game

I've never seen a fanbase so sure of themselves, aside from the lil' hawks. You guys are almost worse.

Actually, I've seen about 99.5% of ISU fans predicting a win on Saturday, while only 80% something of Texas Tech fans(according to Stanley's poll) are predicting a Tech win. It's pretty clear that the ISU fanbase is much more sure of themselves than the Tech fanbase.

It's crazy to think that even if Tuberville loses on Saturday he'll still have a better winning % at Tech than Rhoads at ISU. Tech fans will want Tuberville firmly on the hot seat, and most ISU fans worship Rhoads. Just different levels of expectation I suppose.

The direction of the programs lately explains this perfectly.

Three year record before Tuberville: 29-10
Three year record before Rhoads: 9-27

Keep on trollin', brother!

Regular season opponents (didn't list the same teams both teams faced)

Texas Tech 2010:
SMU
@New Mexico
Baylor
#20 OSU
@Texas A&M
Weber State
Houston

ISU 2010:
Northern Illinois
@#9 Iowa
K-State
UNI
#10 Utah
Kansas
#7 Nebraska

Texas Tech 2011:
TSU
@New Mexico
Nevada

ISU 2011:
UNI
Iowa
@UCONN

Texas Tech 2012:
Northwestern State
@TSU
New Mexico

Iowa State 2012:
Tulsa
@Iowa
Western Illinois

Iowa State has played a much harder schedule than Texas Tech ever since Tommy Tubs has shown up. Rhoads has one more year at ISU than Tubs at Tech. Iowa State was in a much worse place when Rhoads showed up compared to when Tubs showed up in Lubbock. And still, no matter the outcome Saturday, Tommy Tubs still has a losing record to Paul Rhoads.

You Tech fans are exactly like Iowa fans when it comes to rational thinking.

Texas Tech is assuming they are going to be as good as they were under Leach. That's a big assumption based on the weakness of schedule. More than likely they are similar or a little better than last year, or a little worse.

We aren't assuming we will be as good as Leach's best season of 11-2. We are assuming that we are back to average of 8-4 (8-5/9-4). This is the general consensus among the Tech faithful.

In that case, you are assuming you beat us, KU and....? to get to 8/9 wins

Not trolling at all, simply stating the facts. Neither Tuberville or Rhoads got to choose their schedules, and both walked into difficult situations. Tuberville was forced to travel with less than 50 scholarship players last season, that's how depleted his roster was. Tuberville has a better winning % at Tech than Rhoads does at Iowa State, spin it any way you like, but that's a fact. If Tuberville loses on Saturday he'll be on the hot seat and a lot the of Tech fan base will want him gone. That's the expectation level at Texas Tech.

They would want him gone because he is regressing from what Leach had built. Jesus you are dense. Tubs is building on anything. His Tech teams are regressing. Rhoads' teams are moving forward to what we had with Chizik. There isn't a difference in expectations between the fan bases. The only difference between the two fan bases is that ISU fans realize it's going to take time to dig out of the **** hole that Chizik dug while Tech fans got so spoiled from Leach's teams that they unrealistic expectations from Tubs when he's trying to rebuild Tech.

Tuberville may have the better winning % because HE'S PLAYED LESSER OPPONENTS. That's the point I was making. And no matter asinine stats you want to pull up, it doesn't change the fact that Tubs still has a losing record against ISU.

Tech fans would want Tubs gone if he lost because he was regressing period,(8-5>5-7> losing to the media picked 8th best team in conference) has nothing to do with Leach. Most outsiders don't know this, but the coach before Leach, Spike ***** actually had a better Big 12 record than Leach. Leach regressed from *****.

Tech has historically been a better program than Iowa State, that's not a shot at Iowa State, that's just a fact. Therefore our expectations for our program would naturally be higher. Paul Rhoads record in his first 3 years at Iowa State would have probably gotten him fired in Lubbock, Austin, or Oklahoma. That's just the way it is. I like Rhoads, I think ya'll are headed in the right direction and should give him time, but there are different expectations in Ames.

My personal picks for best chances for Tech to win are against:

KU
ISU
TCU
BU
OU

That does not mean they'll happen, just that I think those are where we have a pretty good shot.

Wow, are we playing one of these things is not like the others?

In that case, here are three teams that would beat Tech tomorrow: Dallas Cowboys, New England Patriots, Iowa State Cyclones.

I'll bet your troll friend $100 that you won't win 8 games in a season for the next 2 years. Where's your troll friend now huh???

If I knew you in person I would take the bet myself. Thats not terrible odds. Not a clinch, but not terrible.

Yeah, that's a really great bet, but I'm not going to bet a stranger on the internet for something that will take months to collect on.

I don't get the confident predictions from either side in this game. Other than tomorrow, I hope you at TTU do well this year.

Buncha internet tough-guys on both sides. I envision a close game either way. I give us the edge since we're at home. Jantz has made too many mistakes for us to be as confident as some of the posters on here are.
