Norvel Pelle to Iona

I don't know what the reason would be but i did read Sledge tried to get waiver from NCAA to play this year but it hasn't been ruled on yet.
There is no reason he should get the transfer rule waived... which probably means the NCAA will waive it just for fun.

That was why I asked the question, because I had thought I had read that too, plus the Iona site lists him as a sophomore, not a red-shirt sophomore.....but that may just be the way they do it for now. He probably has to sit out.

I hadn't heard that. I can't imagine that it isn't groundless if so.

Just to wrap this thread up, according to sources of several people Pelle only needs to finish 3 online classes to complete his high school requirements. Pelle and those close to him expect for him to make it through the NCAA clearinghouse, although I can imagine that this will take a while. Either way, it was still a risk v reward to take Pelle and obviously Iona felt that it was worth that risk.

We know Pelle has issues accademically... But I will say it, he is the most overrated 5 star prospect ever!!! He probably will put up decent numbers for the Gaels, but I believe he isn't the monster Center everyone is portraying him to be..

Yeah definitely not athletic enough.
