When does Jake Varner wrestle?

Well since you guys are full of answers, I have another question.

Which college wrestling program has produced the most gold medal wrestlers? I think ISU has five, but I'm not sure about anyone else.

Oklahoma State has 9 golds. Iowa has 5. ISU has 5.

Where did all the Greco and Freestyle guys wrestle in college?

Varner - Iowa State
Frayer - Oklahoma or Oklahoma State?
Burroughs - Nebraska
Hazewinkel - One of Oklahomas?
Scott - Oklahoma State
Herbert - B10 school
Dlagnev - D2 or D3?

Not sure on Greco
Justin Lester at Iowa State for a year, I think
Chaz Betts - ?

Frayer and Hazewinkel were both OU. 5 of the 7 Freestyle wrestlers competed in the Big 12. Herbert was Northwestern, and Dlagnev was a D-2 guy at Nebraska-Kearney.

Iowa won a couple of theirs in 1980 when the Russians boycotted the games. That would be like being a National Champ, but Oklahoma St., Iowa St. and Iowa never attended the Championships.

Betts went to the same high school as me, STMA in Minnesota, and he went to school at Northern Michigan mainly to train for the Olympics.

1980 is the year we boycotted. I am guessing you mean 1984.

The Banachs would've won gold (yes, in '84) even if the Soviet army had taken the mat against them.

The only thing a Chuck Norris roundhouse kick has no effect on, is Lou Banach.

yeah, Banach was untouchable. No way he blew a 9-0 lead to a Cyclone with the team match on the line.

Dude, we boycotted in 1980, but in 1984 russia returned the favor and skipped the LA olympics. So, he was right, 1984.

I feel horrible for the U.S. athletes that got screwed in 1980 and then the Russians in 1984 just so their governments could make a statement. Imagine that in 2012, no Phelps or Lochte, no Gabby Douglas, no basketball teams. Such a stupid selfish move

It's called the cold 'war' for a reason. I'm not sure you appreciate the tension that existed at the time.
