ISU at Texas on LHN

Probably ESPN3 will have it

Not so fast, my friend.

This note is below the schedule on the linked page:

"*Indicates games played in the TicketCity Legends Classic from the Izod Center in East Rutherford, N.J. These games will co-exist on LHN with ESPN3. All other games listed are exclusive to LHN."

Emphasis is mine.

:realmad:

Don't be so sure yet, the Ok St-Texas game was shown on LHN and some Cowboy Television Network stations. Similar to the Kansas football game, they might work out a deal to televise the game in the other team's home market.

I'd be more concerned if I lived in Cedar Rapids right now, as there's no TV station scheduled to carry the Kansas game if the Big 12 website is to be believed.

That doesn't help me. Still :realmad:. FC is becoming less and less of a value for out of area Cyclones. We pretty much got shut out of the non-conference, now our conference inventory is starting to atrophy.

If it's Big 12 network, I believe that KFXA will have it picked up. They had the A&M game on Saturday and usually go all Saturday afternoon with Big 12 MBB games. I'd be more worried about Wednesday looking at the TV schedule. I believe KFXA has the "Big 12 network games" and KCRG has the "Cyclone Television Network" games. If Mizzou is really on Big 12, I'm not sure that KFXA will bump regular Fox programming for the game, and they don't have a non-networked .2 channel like KCRG does to run the game on. Doesn't make a difference if you have ESPN3, most likely.

NFL playoffs on FOX.

I emailed KCRG to see what they say, but as of right now they have other stuff scheduled.

The Mizzou game is on KCRG 9.2.

Doubt it. That defeats their purpose of forcing it onto cable companies if programming is free on ESPN3.

They may share the signal with CloneZone.

Force it into Iowa? I can't see that. I bet they black it out in Texas on ESPN3 but you can watch it on ESPN3 in Iowa.

Yeah no point in withholding the broadcast from the visitor's home TV market. LHN isn't going to get any traction in Iowa, regardless of what they do.

That would just **** people off.

Oh, I forgot about the playoffs. Should still be on ESPN3 though, right?

And honestly KFXA, you can't bump the country music videos off of 28.2 for the afternoon and run the damn game?

I don't know if the Texas-OSU game was on ESPN3 or not, but you cannot watch a replay on ESPN3 right now, and generally any game that you could watch on there, you can replay it on there. I would be shocked if the ISU game is on ESPN3 as its technically not an ESPN production. Its a LHN production, which just happens to be owned by ESPN. I could be (and hopefully am) wrong.

The weird thing is though that KCRG 9.1 is showing that they carry the first Big 12 Network game on Saturday, but not ISU.

No, not force it into Iowa. They may black it out in their desired market but I doubt it ends up on ESPN3. Pretty easy to get around blackouts. One local station or CloneZone may get the feed.

I've already given up on trying to figure out who carries what games in eastern Iowa this year. If you flip through the channels at tip-off 90% of the time someone is carrying it, but I can't figure out who has what. That's why it blows my mind that between the FIVE signals that KCRG and KFXA send out, not one of them can be used to show the ISU game. How is that possible?

I would think there is good money to be made by LHN selling the rights to broadcast stations in the opponents home market, but you're right, there's no way any LHN games ever show up on ESPN3.

Yup, it's usually going to be on KFXA or KCRG 9.1 or 9.2, but I almost wish someone like KWKB would just bite the bullet and just show ALL of the Big 12 Network games in HD.

It is possible because ISU and the Big 12 have a crappy TV deal. We can get ACC games in Des Moines yet we cannot get all the ISU games. The Big 12 really needs someway to get all their games out there, for all to see.

I have Dish Network with the sports pack, and they are showing the ISU vs. KU game on one of the HD alternate channels in the 450's....same thing with Mizzou on Wednesday night....The Dish Network sports pack has been totally worth the money with Red Zone and now all of the Big 12 network games since I am in Eastern Iowa.

I don't want that, only because I can't get them in my rabbit ears, lol. Maybe I'll send an e-mail to KCRG telling them I can do without 24-hr weater on 9.3 for 2 hours if it means they can televise the game Saturday.
