I really doubt that the PAC 12 has the votes to add anyone. Okie Lite and Tech are not schools that would mesh well with the academics of the PAC 12. On top of that, these things usually move slowly. The PAC 12 just expanded, many people who do not live and die by college sports will be very skeptical of expanding again.

Colorado probably wants nothing to do with a PAC 16 where they never play in California. That was the biggest reason they left, to be farther west.

Normally I'd try to speculate on the realignment as many have done, creating off-the-wall scenarios. But seeing the Texas-ACC rumors, I've officially seen it all. The only thing that would top that would be UNI going FBS and joining the Big 10, razing the UNIDome and building a 65000 seat stadium in its place. This is unbelievable. Aren't they over 1000 miles to the nearest ACC team? I know they have more money than the bottom 4 in the Big XII put together, but that's a lot of expenses to travel.

Lets just say, the forgotten five stick together somehow. How would that work to collect the "exit fee" from the other schools that leave if the other school's leaving blows up our TV deal, leaving no money left to withhold from the school's that are leaving?

I really think the Big 12 should stick together if only to try to collect the money from other universities, then the remaining schools can vote to dissolve the conference. There can be no doubt ISU could potentially suffer great economic harm here.

I got a kick out of the article by Tait in KC saying that Oklahoma and Texas are looking out for KU because of BB. I mean, how charitable of Texas to take KU with them over a sport that Texas cares nothing about. That's delusional.

Thinking about it, will there be enough votes in the PAC for expansion? What do they need? A majority? 75%? Unanimous?

If the conference is split E\W i could see Utah, Colorado, Arizona, and Arizona State being unhappy with this change, as theyd see less California exposure being on the other side of the superconference, and if its north\south you're breaking up the original PAC-8.

Stanford and Cal could have a tough time voting Texas in without making sure their power was limited to be equal to the others. I don't think they could stomach the Longhorns coming in and thinking they can call the shots like they did in the Big 12, especially since a socially conservative Texan named Rick Perry could very well be the next President.
