The SEC adding more teams is just going to cause current SEC teams to want to get out. Super-Conferences will be a fad. You can't tell me money and prestige is worth having either a 6-1 shot at conference championship every year for the haves or a 1000-1 shot for the have-nots. There will be both bottom feeder AND top feeder schools eager to not be apart of this nonsense. Add to that a couple others that need a change and viola!!!

What goes up, must come down. EVERY F'ing time boys.

...No.

I am keeping my fingers crossed for the Big XII to stay together. But if you think anyone in the Big Ten, SEC, or Pac 12 aren't feeling great right now you are delusional. Our only strength is Texas and Oklahoha liking where they are at.

according to the b12 press release about a&m they said they would be actively and agressively searching for teams to expand

I always thought that Beebe was doing the wrong thing by not being more pro active in replacing neb. And Colorado last year now look where same story different verse. I just hope this won't be a annual problem if we don't add some new solid colleges to the b12. This will be the next biggest move in my opinion to save it.

If A&M leaves we need to add Houston or BYU asap.

If they don't leave we still need to be looking for the best possible two teams to add. BYU & Louisville, it might be a case of either raiding the Big East or becoming the Big East and annually being the least stable and well rounded conference.

Maybe in two weeks we will see if LTN is a working model. It may not be. I would think a Big 12 Network may be needed as much as more teams.

Here is the list in priority of teams to raid from anywhere from my viewpoint:

Arizona State *sexy choice which pays back Pac Ten)
Louisville (interesting for bball and fball and new recruiting area)
BYU (national interest)
Houston ( metro market)
TCU (they can recruit)
Boise State (move them up a notch)
Arkansas (offer them and see what happens if TAM goes AWOL)
Pittsburgh (they have a lot to offer)
Florida State (ACC may dissipate)
Minnesota (they stole from us)
Hawaii (great for recruiting)

Go get 'em Beebe. Get the Big 12 network going.

But some have said that both Texas and OU don't want to go back to a 12 team league with a conference championship game? If that's the case, we won't go back to 12 IMO.

If we are adding one, I would like to see Pitt. If we are adding three, my choices would be Arizona State, BYU and Boise State. That would also add two more wrestling programs to our conference.

agreed.. super conferences are a bad idea. very stupid move. I do not understand why OU and Texas would not want a 8-9 team Big 12... Simple odds tell me that they would cherish it.

I think you guys need to hope that A&M leaves and you guys can pick up BYU for the time being. If only Texas would fall in line and at least be controllable, which is probably not going to happen but let's hope they want to be in the B12. I just can't see that being a bad thing for them.

Either that or you pick up a few from the Big East, but then more dominoes fall. Either way, I want to see the B12 stay together. Just doesn't look too promising. I would hate to see a 16 team SEC that added more powerhouses. College football would never be the same.

Plus Iowa doesn't NEED Iowa St, but I think the state of Iowa does, and it needs the school more than anything (not that it would get worse academically, but the money you are getting now doesn't hurt).
