Jake Knott broke his arm

Well that sucks! Hopefully the recovery time is not too bad, he has all summer to let it heal and rehab it but what sucks he is probably will be behind on strength and conditioning when he gets back.

That sucks for Knott.

A chance for someone to step up and make a name for themselves tomorrow.

Here is the release.

[FONT=Calibri, sans-serif]AMES, Iowa – Iowa State linebacker Jake Knott had successful surgery Friday afternoon at Mary Greeley Hospital to repair a break in the ulna bone in his right arm suffered Thursday in practice.
“Jake is recovering well,” Iowa State head coach Paul Rhoads said. “The total recovery time for an injury of this nature is about two months. We are confident that he will be ready to go for fall practice in August.”
Knott, a junior from Waukee, made 130 tackles en route to earning second-team all-Big 12 honors last season. He started every game last season and was second in the league in tackles.

I broke my Ulna in high school and also had surgery. I broke it about week 4 and I probably could have played in week 7 with a padded cast. It was just Freshman year so it wasn't really worth it. If it was my Senior year I probably would have played.

Sucks for him, but he'll really only miss about half of summer work outs.

If this had to happen...thank goodness it happened in the Spring and not the fall. He should have zero problem being full strength...even by July, much less for Fall practice.

Is this one of the cases where the broken arm will heal and actually grow stronger?
