Jordan Railey

i'm sure his "don't take any crap from anybody" & "his edginess" that we all loved and posted about during the season just might be whats causing him to get arrested. We can't have it both ways with some players. Apparently he is one of those that plays like he lives. I sure hope he can get it straightened out and stick around, but if CFH kicks him to the curb, he's got no one to blame but himself. It's not like he's the first player kicked out of ISU for doing something stupid. I'm not gonna lose any sleep over it. Players want to come here now, we'll find some one else. I do like Jordans edge, we need that. We don't need players in jail.

Kids will be kids. First offense was 3 games (10% of season), this should be atleast 10 games (33% of the season). Unless Fred doesn't think he is worth the trouble.

Cytom- Neg rep. posting a pic of the kids worst moment...

This is about right. He should be treated the same way as you would treat your best player. I agree on the Neg rep. for Cytom too.

We don't know the real story, so lets not cast stones at Mr. Railey. The system will work out, either he is a dumb *** and will be gone or it was a misunderstanding and he will have sort of punishment and be on his last chance.

???????? The Railey I saw out on the court was soft as pudding. If anything, he needs to channel his inner Homan if he wants to develop into a consistent post player.

I woke up and checked my twitter feed and there were a few tweets that made me think something had happened.

Stupid, stupid move by Jordan. Especially considering he was very lucky not to kill himself or someone else over New Years. And you know those guys have been warned that the cops are out like crazy over VEISHEA, so you better stay the hell out of any sort of trouble.

The only positive is that it wasn't any one else. At least we don't have more people that are that stupid.

It'll be interesting to see what happens now. I can imaagine that Hoiberg is ****** off and I wouldn't want to be the one seeing him today.

And I'll point out that Jordan is a freshman who was signed in the fall (according to some of you the least risky type of player) who has now been arrested twice. He is clearly stupid enough to get caught doing this ****.

Neg rep for posting a mug shot that is on a public website? Maybe Jordan should realize he is a man and not be babied if he is a thousand miles from home representing the university. He should be ashamed of his actions in December to not get in trouble again. Should the register not publish any mug shots of 18+ criminals? If you just want to baby the player as a fan he is just going to continue to feel entitled with no consequences.

I hope everyone upset about the mug shot posting calls the register out if they publish it as well.

That's like shooting fish in a barrel, man.

A big punishment in my opinion would to not let him go on the Europe trip this summer maybe that would open his eyes up. But if Fred decides he is done I am fine with that.

I doubt he will be booted. This seems like something pretty minor to me. i know it's his second issue but I don't see Fred booting him. Now, leaving him home for the trip overseas I would think is a definite possibility or telling him he's redshirting next year as a type of probation is another thing he could do.

I would be fine with no summer trip and a 10 game suspension.

Jesus you people go overboard with the punishment for getting in trouble. It was a damn disorderly conduct ticket, it's not like he killed someone. Run some sprints, get his *** chewed a little, let him pay his fine, get it over with.

Disorderly conduct could be just about anything. I believe if you look closely, it covers cursing in public in some jurisdictions. Will be interesting to know more details about the situation.

I saw Him on welch tonight and I thought to myself if im a big 12 athlete on a scholarship why the heck would i go party and ruin everything. this is not good. could be done

Saw KO out and about on Welch and also at Hyland. Its not that huge of a deal. Their college kids who like to go out and have fun. Hope his morning was fun though haha.

Disorderly conduct is not grounds for dismissal IMO, I'm guessing he and the word sprints are going to become very good friends.

Some people can handle alcohol and some can't - that becomes pretty apparent when 18-year olds go away to college. I think it's safe to say Railey should just stay away from alcohol for the time being.

Interesting that you brought up Homan in a thread about drunken basketball players. I remember playing him in intramural softball. He was toasted. He got tagged out on a slide to second. Because he was short of the bag by about 10 yards. And we had to stop the game because it took him another couple minutes to actually get up and off the infield. This kind of stuff has been happening for awhile with athletes at every school, which is why I find it funny when we have posters go after Hawks that arein toruble with the law.

The same Homan that hides under cars?

When I was in Ames, I always found it hilarious watching Homan and Vroman out and about together. They'd be hammered drunk, sucking down Camels (mainly Vroman) and then go out and play a very solid game the next day.
