lattimer and howard suspended indefinately

I have done a little research looking into Lattimer to see if there's a huge pattern here or anything. He went to a JUCO to get to D1 football, not because he didn't qualify. He was a full qualifier. He hadn't been in trouble before that instance. I guess to me, this comes down to what actually happened last weekend. Obviously he did something wrong. I want to see what the court decides before I pass judgement. IMO, from what we have heard the first offense is far more egregious.

Interesting note...Lattimer committed to ISU on June 1, 2009. Two days after the incident. It appears on the outside that he took his one and only offer before the **** hit the fan. I wonder if he was arrested May 30th or if it was a later date? I wonder if the staff knew about this when he committed or if they found out later.

You can committ rape and walk if you play football..

signed cederic everson and abe satterfield

Also if you played basketball. And then you will have a coach publicly stating his support for you, implying the victim lying.

Signed,
Pierre Pierce

P.S. I was then sent to prison for beating and threatending another woman a couple of years later.

Heard the Ames PD had a talk with the football players at a team meeting yesterday. Not sure on the subject.

According to the DSM Register, Mr. Lattimer may have some sort of anger management issue. Why was this clown allowed on campus following his arrest in Kansas? Looks like the Kansas incident was rather serious (bascially Lattimer and another guy beat up a male cheerleader). From the Register story, it looks like the coaching staff was well aware of Lattimer's arrest and subsquent gulity plea.

At the very least, Lattimer has an anger/alcohol problem, or he is just a bad guy who should be booted off the team.

Thanks for the rehash but we can all read and have.

Just wondering, but do you see Lattimer on a regular basis to know that he has an anger/alcohol problem?? I'm not saying that he doesn't, but this past incident had nothing to do with alcohol (he wasn't charged with public intox or anything similar when arrested)... Once again, I think we are just jumping to conclusions based upon second hand reports...

No, I don't know him at all (just from what I have seen on the football field). You make a good point, and I can certainly understand not wanting to jump to conclusions about someone based upon one indcident.

However, the information regarding the Kansas arrest is troubling. If I understand it correctly, Lattimer and his friend seriously beat a male cheerleader. It appears this confrontation was 2 on 1. I am going to assume that Lattimer himself held a size advantage over the cheerleader, but adding another guy on Lattimer's side just seems really dirty to me.

Additionally, the Kansas incident was within a day or two of his commitment to ISU, and it appears the ISU staff was aware of the arrest and subsquent gulity plea. Therefore, Lattimer should have a very short leash at ISU. The news of his arrest over the past weekend ought to result in either a heavy suspension or outright termination of his scholarship. Just my opinion.

I suspect he's gone. What part of keep your nose clean did he not understand?

No it's disgusting. I can handle losses. I can handle ISU winding up in the MAC. I can't support someone who just decided to "roll" a male cheerleader and break his jaw. I want to be proud of these guys.

I'm not a fan who wants to win at all costs.

Lol. It just blows me away that people want him kicked off the team based on something he did before he got here. I don't care if Ray Lewis killed someone, I'm not kicking him off my football team.

Is it more mind-blowing that people want him kicked off the team for "something he did before he got here" (haven't heard that one yet), or is it more mind-blowing that people are defending a kid that beat the crud out of a tough cheerleader less than 2 years ago and now tried to pull a cop off of his friend so they would not get caught doing something illegal (allegedly)?

Just seeing what blows you away more.

I seriously hope you are kidding or going for shock effect. Football is a sport, a great sport, but still a sport. Lots of things in my life more important and doing the right thing is one of them. CPR will do the right thing after getting the facts and I will support that decision either way, but the killing thing..........................seriously?

What other kind of player would you want on defense? Get the kid some help and put him on the shortest leash, from Con Air "If you so much as pass gas in my directions...Your testicles will become my personal property"
