Gotta think they are getting a good deal on labor and materials considering the state of the construciton industry.
You'd like to think so, but materials costs are going way up, especially metals, which this project will use a lot of.

This is not suppose to be public knowledge yet.Coach Rhoads denied all of this when asked directly about projects. He was on KXNO this morning.... Said that it is in the future goals of the the Athletic Department but denied the south endzone being built anytime soon.
We already get enough crap about being cellar dwellers. I don't think we need to give anyone any more ammo.
I don't want say they are going on the cheap but the end-zone part will be economical meaning they will probably use exposed structural steel to construction it instead of precast concrete. You still get the same dramatic effect from a looks standpoint but it keeps the cost down substantially.

I dont consider the Gridiron Club the public, these meetings are not open to the public, these are not town hall meetings or something, you cant just walk into these meetings. Then why offer up that information to a crowd of people that you know won't be able to keep their traps shut? If it's not supposed to be out there for public consumption, then don't put it out there to the public.
And yes, I would consider the Gridiron Club "the public". Once it leaves your mouth, it's public knowledge, doesn't matter who you're speaking to.
Sounds like he let the cat out of the bag.
But what about the walkway that goes around to the west side entrance? I know that one isn't used nearly as much, but that would cut that out completely wouldn't it?

So I would assume the football only building is going in the parking lot next to the Berg.
Good call, I misunderstood you the first time. I hadn't thought about the sidewalk outside the fence. Do very many people use the west gate? There's virtually no parking on that side, and I would think most people use either the north gate (if they tailgate/park to the north of JT) or the south gate (if they tailgate/park to the south) to enter the stadium. Once you're inside, you can easily get to the west seats from either entrance.
Every game I've been to since about 2003 I've sat on the west side, and I've never once entered JT through the west gate.
If they bowled in the south endzone and put a visiting locker room there, my ideal scenario(which will never happen) would be to demolish or completely redo the Olson building so it's 2-3 stories and extend the Jacobson building to the grass on the east and west so it has built in tunnels on each side.
So you are saying if we had Ohio states stadium that we would be amazing? I think if we had their stadium it would look bad because it wouldn't even be half full for every game, what 5* recruit would want to play at a large empty stadium? NONE. Would you rather have a large empty stadium with bad fan support or a smaller sold out stadium with great fan support.
Players want to play for good teams that win more that 8 games not teams that win 5-6 and just make or miss a bowl game.

My ideal scenario would be to leave the south bleachers alone and replace the current scoreboard with the new proposed videoboard. Then, demolish the Jake and enclose the north endzone with double deck seating. Within this would be weight room, players lounge, locker rooms, etc. Very similar to what Indiana did recently.
