Hamilton Considering Cal, LSU, Virginia

Haha...can't speak into the future, but against Deaces' wishes. To the best of my knowledge Colvin and Dendy are not leaving. I can't give you a second to second update.

Same here! KG and cyismydog are the two best things CycloneFanatic has to offer. I only wish we had football equivalents. KG and cyismydog -- Thanks for all the time, energy, and efforts you put into CycloneFanatic!!! You should be getting paid.

I agree. Might not always agree with what they say but the information, effort and dedication to ISU is much appreciated.

I think the Dendy and Colvin rumors are just bogus. What does a kid have to say? When he says he is staying, then I don't know what's left to do. Dendy leaving would just be stupid.

I would rather things play out like Colvin and Dendy, rather than Ham or WJ. Because if the player is honest upfront, Mac at least knows what he is dealing with and what the issues are.

Now that we know he has no interest in BYU or Utah, we again find out this is just more of the same.

JP, admit you drew up a terrible contract, suck it up, and get rid of McD. Nobody wants to play for ISU.

Getting kids to come (and stay) to the school is job 1, and McD is currently getting an "F". Nobody else gets to stay in Ames with those kinds of grades.

Is there any way we can start being less giving of transfers? This idea sounds kind of bizzare, but if Ham said he wanted out for reasons of being "homesick" could we grant a conditional transfer based on him going to a school that actually is close to Utah?

I'm just curious, maybe there is no way to do this, but maybe adding some conditions to transfers may help...but I suppose it could have some negative effects when it comes to recruiting.

Could be....but it was chilling & scary that the Ham rumors were posted here months in advance by more than a couple different posters.

There must have been some leaks, or mention by Ham about his desire to transfer for it to end up here.

You make a good point, but what should be said on the recruiting trail if we were to make a point with a player?

Question, when his transfer was announced, was there a quote from Hamilton at all that said he was homesick or was that just how the school was spinning it? I recall that when Wes originally transferred I think it was also said that he wanted to go somewhere closer to his home.

I think all the homesick talk is just something that McD and his guys put out there to take pressure off of them. What a joke. I realize it's not going to happen this year, but the sooner we are rid of this loser the better.

"... I just feel I need to be at a school closer to home where my family will have a better opportunity to watch me play..."

Agreed. Sometimes many of us (myself included) may not agree with their defense of Mac, but in the end they are the best resource this board has.

Also, I believe I had heard on here before that KG is a friend of Mac's, in which case I understand his defense of Mac. I would defend a friend of mine in the same way, and I would hope my friends would do the same.

Yah, I mentioned that at the end of my post. I suppose, in a sense, you are weeding out the people who want to be here and who don't from the very beginning though.

Obviously it's not that he's homesick, but more likely he's getting tired of losing seasons and sitting out the post season. So am I.

My honest opinion(without hearing Ham's side)...Ham's a product of culture change with college basketball. Players want to play first, then win second, but if you don't win, they want to transfer. I understand wanting to win...there just isn't a lot of toughness there, when it comes to being pushed to get better.

You have a lot of nerve to call out Ham for not being "tough." Ham was the one of the few who were dedicated to the off-season lifting program last year, when others were often no-shows, or lifted half-assed. Ask coach Moser who's "tough."
Good god.

Good god.

Not talking about weight lifting...

At this point, I think you would have to be honest and say that ISU is making a four year commitment to the recruit, and if the recruit isn't willing to do the same for ISU, then lets not even start this relationship.

I suppose you could argue that this will hurt recruiting, but how could recruiting possibly get any worse? The 2008 class sums it all up pretty well.
