Billy Gillispie

Even more reason to look at him:

"After leading both UTEP and Texas A&M to postseason appearances one year after poor seasons, Gillispie became the only college basketball coach to be in charge of the NCAA program with the biggest turnaround in two consecutive seasons. Gillispie is known as an excellent recruiter who has managed to put together four straight top-25 recruiting classes. In his three seasons at A&M, the Aggies achieved three consecutive 20-win seasons for the first time ever"

To the people saying he was only good at recruiting because he was in Texas:

"During his tenure at Kentucky, Gillispie snagged numerous high profile recruits. These included three 5* recruits according to Scout.com (Patrick Patterson, Daniel Orton & Dominique Ferguson) and five 4* recruits (Alex Legion, DeAndre Liggins, Darius Miller, Kevin Galloway and Jon Hood)."

IF YOU ARE AN ESPN INSIDER, look at that article and copy/paste it on this thread

First, the rumor of the day from Ames, Iowa. When the Cyclones were in Boulder over the weekend to play the Buffs, we heard that Iowa State is thinking about showing hoops coach Greg McDermott the door. We also heard that Cyclone officials are allegedly interested in former UTEP, A&M and Kentucky head coach Billy Gillispie. This is copied and pasted from the original link but that douchey kid wanted some thing so I'm giving it to him. If that’s the case — shame on the Cyclones. We hope they learned their lesson with ex-football coach Gene Chizik, who bolted Ames at the first opportunity. Gillispie would no doubt take the same route … after all, how long did he stay at any of his previous schools? …

ESPN Insider is just like Rotoworld or MLBTradeRumors. All they do is rehash other reports and stories. The source for ESPN Insider is the story that is in the first post of this thread.

Man I want to win as much as the next guy, but I would really question this move. I am torn. I think Greg is a good coach and an even better guy but it just has not worked here. I would not be upset if he got another year. If we do let him go I would hope we would get someone besides Gillespie.

Sign me up for BG. You people being critical of him won't be complaining too much when he has us in the NCAA tournament in 2-3 years tops.
