Look like you have two teams in the same situation

I don't understand why the guy who said Baylor would go 0-8 in conference without Griffin got trashed. If they don't beat Iowa State they most likely won't win a game.

You have to be pretty confident if you are a Baylor fan. Their team speed last year absolutely overwhelmed us. Especially their defense.

They were up on us 38-3 last year. They have been playing with their 3rd string QB, 2nd string RB.

We have had a couple real big let down losses.

If I was a Baylor fan I would be licking my chops at the chance to play ISU.

Hopefully we take care of business and pull one of the biggest (if not the biggest) year to year scoreboard turnaround. It would be a really nice feeling to get a Big 12 win!

There going out on a limb, especially when they don't have there starting QB, aren't they down to there third string?

I don't see how any Iowa State fan could be cocky about any game, let alone a conference game. It wouldn't surprise me if Iowa State gets soundly beat in this game. It wouldn't surprise me if Baylor squeaks by and wins. It wouldn't shock me if Iowa State wins a nail biter. It will shock the hell out of me if Iowa State wins going away.

I think it will be a close game either way. It is going to be chilly night. weather could be a factor for the boys from Baylor.

Definitely true there - we've had the hottest summer almost since they've been keeping track in Austin and with ISU focusing on the run game it may really be a blessing to have some chill in the air.

Either way I think it's close and I think BOTH teams are desperate for a win.

Saturday's forecast actually sounds pretty decent. High around 50 and low around 35. Most of the game should be played in the mid to low 40's.

That guy is correct.

I don't see any similarity between ISU's and Baylor's situation. If Baylor beats us they will finish 1-7 in the conference. If they don't they will finish 0-8. What difference does that make? It's not like they're going to a bowl game this year, or any year, for that matter, until they leave the Big XII.

Which could be soon...

The only similarity is that both teams have suffered significant injuries. In Baylor's case, those injuries have pushed ISU out of the "sure win" category into the "could win" division. You are correct in that BU must win this weekend.

But I'd stay away from the "until they leave the Big X12" smack. There's more talk about ISU being a school out these days than Baylor and it's for a very simply reason . . . ISU adds absolutely nothing to the conference. But then, somebody has to be the 12th school, or the conference couldn't be called the Big 12. Right?

LOL. How many Big 12 Championships does Baylor hold in the top two revenue sports?

Keep in mind that no one cares who your top shot putter or hurdler is. We're talking men's basketball and football here.

Both ISU and Baylor do add a lot to the conference. We are willing to spend what it takes to participate fully in conference sports while participating on partially in sharing conference revenues. How are Texas & Oklahoma going to get 10+ wins a year without paying appearance fees to Conference USA and MAC schools unless they have Baylor and ISU to kick around?

Baylor is basically the Big 12 mens and womens tennis dynasty.

They have 1 WBB championship

2 baseball championships

1 Mens golf championship.

1 Soccer championship.

Yup pretty much all sports that nobody gives a crap about (minus baseball)

I take exception to your first post. We have been competitive in most sports except football.
