I could see how it wouldn't be legal - ESPN360 is a subscription service, like pay-per-view, which is illegal for broadcasting to an audience in a theater (bar) atmosphere. I'm sure that even though Mediacom or other cable providers offer this service as "complimentary" it is still reflected in the billing statement.
On the flip-side, if your bar is a Mediacom customer and they have provided cable and ESPN360 service then any and all tvs and computers that have that service should be allowed to show the game.
I changed my mind - yes, bars should be able to show the game as long as they have Mediacom and ESPN360. I remember going to Boston's in Clive two years ago to watch a Drake basketball game that was only being shown online. I'm not sure what they had to do to get permission to show it, but I know that it can be done!

It is possible that your business's internet service provider offers ESPN360.com on a residential level but not a commercial level. Many businesses also use firewalls and other security measures to prevent users from visiting sites not approved by the business. These measures may also prevent you from signing in to your home account through Remote Access or Verizon Surround.

Mahoney's at 1602 E Ave NE in Cedar Rapids. I really dont see why we wouldnt be able to show it but once I'll get confirmation I'll start a new thread for CR game watch.
Considering I'll be working at Coe for our game, that will work out perfectly for me!
Bring in some friends...the more people we have to watch the game/make a request to watch the game, the better chance I would have of actually getting them to hook it up. I would guess that the Mahoney family is going to be there, (the ones that arent making the trip of course) so I wouldnt know why we wouldnt be able to get it going!
I can confirm that the remote access instructions worked for me. I have a friend with AT&T internet who enabled remote access for an ESPN360 account we created and I was able to log into it from my Time Warner Cable internet at home.
Double confirmation. I was able to create an account at a friends house with Mediacom and used my qwest isp at home and it worked. Make sure that you first sync your ESPN.com account when you are at the "appoved" isp. Also access ESPN360 after you log in with your ESPN.com account.
Anyone know if it is possible to push the ESPN360 streaming video from your computer out to a TV via a Xbox or PS3??
Not sure, but I'm going to be using an S-video cable to connect my laptop to my big screen. Won't be the greatest picture, but it should work OK. Check to see if you have an S-video out port on your computer.
