What is the advantage here vs just recording both the programs? Does this just make it easier to access both of them?
That's my thought, I don't know that there is a large advantage since you are still tying up both tuners.
Another new update, the R-22 should have one out that allows the HD functions to be turned on if you already have HD access on your account...
I used to use it on the old Directv Tivos when I was watching two live events that I didn't want to watch later. I could pause, then switch to the other tuner, then pause that one and switch back.
It's incredibly valuable when wanting to watch two FB games at once. Watch one for 30 min, switch channel and watch the other for 30 min (plus be able to FF through commercials and in between plays if you want).
This was one of my biggest complaints when I had to switch from my DTV TiVo to my current DTV DVR. So glad to hear they finally got this done.

Nothing. The update should be automatically downloaded to your DVR, and then you will have a message concerning the new features.
