Will Conan be better than Leno?

If Andy gets more involved...ugh. I think he's fine in the role he's in, but I personally find him annoying in too big of doses. What we need is more interaction with Max again!
Green Day was great tonight too. Overall I thought it was a great show, great interview with Tom as mentioned above.
Richter is the only problem with the show. He either needs to pipe up once in a while or leave the show.
When Andy was just a sidekick and doing skits he was hilarious. After he left the show and was just a guest, and now the announcer, it seems like he always tries to hard to be funny. He just needs to relax. I think eventually he will find his groove.
I missed tonight's show, anything good?

Conan's second tonight show was alot better than the first, more of conan off the cuff humor which makes him great.
Nothing beats Letterman of the 80's on NBC, with such things as the thrill cam, prancing waters and Larry "Bud" Melman among others

Oh my, cyfan. Any ratings list that doesn't have Carson at the top has absolutely no credibility whatsoever. Johnny Carson's three decades on late night television will for ever be unmatched. He isn't referred to as the "King of Late Night Television" for nothing. There has never been anyone like him and quite frankly, I doubt there ever will be.
When he sat across the desk from a guest, he was an absolute master. His Karnac the Magnificent stunts were hilarious, no matter how many times you watched them. When he and his guests did short humorous vignettes it was absolutely side-splitting. He had a knack of getting common people (including children) on the show every now-and-then, and his ability to get down to their level was simply unbelievable. And when he had the animals on from the San Diego Zoo, you never knew what might happen or what he might say.
One thing Carson could do that most talk show hosts can't do is to allow themselves to be up-staged by a guest. Carson didn't have such a super-charged ego that he couldn't allow a charming and hilarious guest to steal the spotlight from time-to-time. There isn't a late night talker today that will allow that to happen.
Carson will always be the yardstick by which late night talk show hosts are judged...PERIOD.
I bet you enjoyed "I Love Lucy" and the other "talkies" as well ... but its a new day my friend.
Leno and Letterman are old, Carson is long dead, and Paar has returned to dust. But the future's looking up!
No contest. Conan is going to be way better than Leno.
What sucks though is that I love Letterman too. But switching channels is not that bad. But when Leno was on.......uh..CBS was on at my house.

You do realize that there are those of us out there now that weren't old enough to watch to watch Johnny Carson while he was on the air and therefore he isn't going to show up on our "favorite" or "top" late night hosts, right? I mean, I'm 30, and even I didn't start watching the late night talk shows until well after Leno and Letterman had settled into their rivalry. Other than a few clips of Carson here and there, I have no idea what kind of talk show that Carson ran, and personally, I don't have the time, energy, or desire to do the research to find out whether he was truly better or not.
Now, that was a classic Conan episode. He's starting to settle in and work into his grove. In the year 3000 was great.
I think bits like "In the Year 3000" are why Andy is back. He may not sit by the guests anymore and help interview (Conan doesn't need him to) but he will deffinitely still contribute to bits and add to the monologue.
I am really excited to see that Conan is still getting to be Conan and not have to cater to the old folks who like Leno.
