Philosophically speaking, AI has to pay for itself. One way or the other, that will fall on 'us'. Expect the infrastructure to be taxes and usage fees to be the other. In the end, our cash flow has to adjust to benefit from what AI creates. If we don't pony up at the rate they're trying to sell, they're going to take a hit. It'll be interesting to watch. That's for sure.I don't really have an option to not hold it. Got X amount that vests 25%/year over 4 years. Had the options to take 100% options, 100% RSUs or 50/50. With options being granted at 4X, gambled and took 50/50. Even if I had taken 100% RSUs the current value is 45% of the value when granted. Needs to hit $323 for the options to beat the 100% RSU value.
Oracles plan is 100% in on infrastructure and OpenAI partnership. On the software side I can only speak to the healthcare world, they're heavily investing in a new EHR with heavy AI agent integration that isn't gaining traction very fast. Plenty of rumors that the board wants to sell that piece of business.
Yep, right now it's basically billionaires passing their money back and forth. I've told this, and it's public knowledge, Ellison in a town hall last year brought up a story about having dinner with Elon and Jensen Huang at Nobu in Malibu and said the entire conversation was him and Elon begging for faster chip production. Oracle pays Nvdia for chips -> OpenAI pays Oracle for data center space -> Oracle pays OpenAI for token usage. My small team at Oracle is racking up $10s of thousands per month in token usage. Most of it is for internal tooling and the brass is expecting it to be heavily utilized.Philosophically speaking, AI has to pay for itself. One way or the other, that will fall on 'us'. The worst part is it’s priced 20x what it’s worth while STILL being subsidized. They can’t afford to lower it.Tend to agree. Its going to be as important to productivity as MS Office (esp Excel) was. But everything is priced like its going to bring 20x that. It will crash then recover to what its worth.
Unless of course, it becomes superintelligent and conscious, decides to treat humans like humans treat chimps, and basically kills us all. In which case, you don't have to worry about your portfolio anymore.
I assume they will handle these similar to how they handle service on the Tesla. When I need a tire rotation, I go to an app, select the date/time, and someone comes to my garage and rotates my tires inside the garage. Maybe in the future they will have a package deal where you get service on your Tesla and the robot......oh wait, the robot will do my tire rotations.....Elon Musk's 5 year projection ( Musk's Projection ). Interestingly, there's more doom and gloom than realistic opportunities. Here's the indisputable largest opportunity. I'll wait, but can anyone tell me ANYTHING which is made today which lasts a 'lifetime'? Oh, I'm sure there are some, but very few that does not require 'fixing'. Well, there you go. The intelligence of these robots will be unbelievable, but their construct will require a lot of maintenance over time, which in turn will require the knowledge. And, yes, eventually robots will repair robots. And robots will make robots. But, I believe that'll be another full generation. So, like plumbers, electricians, carpenters, mechanics and countless other blue collar jobs, maintenance of the next few generations of robots will be an essential trade.
But, who's going to rotate the robot?I assume they will handle these similar to how they handle service on the Tesla.
