Big 12 FB Media Days

tech has become insufferable so quick. they get a sugar daddy and make one appearance in the conference championship in their entire existence and they think they're gods. Make two appearances like ISU then you can talk

But for real they want to jump ship (to where lmao??) because the conference didn't let them run with Sorsby, which no other conference would have either. And they're mad they can't throw trash onto the field.

It could very well be a tough football season but I honestly fail to see how we're worse than Colorado even with an entirely new roster.
But Colorado's quarterback is going to actually start looking at the defense this year!!!

I completely understand why Colorado brough Prime in when they did but we all knew there was a chance it was going to blow up spectacularly.

Just football? They think Texas is literally the center of the universe. It's a mental illness.
I don't even know what the Tech fans are yapping about at this point! It's like they're telling everyone to "not be poor"? What does that even mean?

Tech is like, "Hey man, I just built this $10M mansion on this golf course, and everyone in this HOA needs to not have $750,000 houses out here because it's making my mansion look bad".

Tech is also mad at the HOA for not letting them have their expensive Pitbull (Sorsby) they just bought who has a history of trouble. The HOA is like, "you can have a dog, it just can't be a Pitbull that has a troubled pass".

And Tech is like, I'm going to get a judge to allow me to have the Pitbull no matter what the HOA's rules says, and the judge says I can and we will see you in court. The HOA President (Yormark) has stated we are going to sue you with your intent to bring this nasty dog into our neighborhood. All the other Golf Course HOA's (NFL, CFL, NCAA) said, "Yeah no Pitbulls with troubled passes!"

Tech is pissed because they bought this Pitbull from the neighbor (Cincy), who omitted having the Pitbull in the first place by saying they only had a dog. (The neighbor should probably get in trouble too from not admitting they had a Pitbull)

I wish their was a better metric than returning starters in this era.. Does someone have a returning proiduction stat?

6 starters from Wazzu are at ISU if my quick gemini search is correct. Add onto that a QB who kept his QB coach, Dom Overby starter the season opener last year.

Also, I for one am REALLY glad the staff went younger and is building for the future over all of this years transfers being seniors

I had to laugh at Cody Campbell saying "every team should be doing a version of what we're doing"...just pure ignorance

He's like Steve Cohen with the Mets trying to buy a championship, but has done nothing with those dollars spent. Then he tries to bring in an Ace that uses PED's, and you don't think other teams are going to say something about that? JP has said we are like the Milwaukee Brewers in a small market trying to do more with less. Jimmy mentioned today that IU has won a national championship and they've been a nobody for decades, but the real context is they have Mark Cuban bank rolling the roster.

Ugh. Are we back to that being the focus? That’s a downside of the program reset I hadn’t anticipated.
Well, I hope not entirely. I was just chuckling about it as he was speaking during his interview. Beating Iowa should definitely not be the singular focus for our program (anymore, thankfully). However, for this season with the all unknowns surrounding Rogers' first team, it could be a unifying early season rally cry. The first test, huge chance to quiet the doubters; always great to beat Iowa.

I'm definitely ok with this perception as it doesn't set unrealistic expectations, may lull the opposition, and certainly presents different sets.

I see it more as “I was told the best way to win over the entire fanbase by week 2 is to beat the hawks” hes not giving bulletin board material to any conference opponents which is better I’d say. Also so the commenter that stated Matt took seven years to take the game serious I agree, the game means something to the fan base and should be important.

Kansas State’s AD has said he’s seen the monster patches, and they aren’t as bad as the biggest skeptic may think. That’s a ringing endorsement

I am being realistic in thinking we had multiple NFL draft picks on offense last year and we still struggled to win(or straight up lost) against mediocre Big 12 teams ( Colorado/Cincy). I look at winning two non-conference games maybe beating Okie State or Baylor. I think it’s a 5-7 season or 4-8. I do think Rogers is doing a good job getting guys to Ames that will work
In his system this year but also years to come. Just want everyone to tap the brakes

Man TT fans turned obnoxious quickly.
They always had delusions of grandeur, thinking all their new guys were going to be all-world right away.
But then UT would come along and put them in their place and make them sad. With UT gone, there's no one to do that. So Tech has gone from bipolar, to just mania.

Manic episodes involve intense energy, euphoria, or unusual irritability.
Symptoms include:

  • Racing thoughts and rapid speech: Jumping quickly from one idea to another and talking excessively
  • Grandiosity: An inflated sense of self-confidence, power, or believing you have special abilities
  • Impulsive behavior: Taking high risks, such as excessive spending, reckless driving, or foolish investments.
e.g. "Our new WR is a 5-star that had interest from Bama AND Tennessee! And our defense will be awesome because we have a 17yo recruit at Mike that had 3 TFLs for Arlen in the 14A Texas champ game last year! We also have a new hydration coordinator on offense so the O-Line will be probably Top 3 in the country. And Mister Cody has put $85M into the roster this year, everyone got a new Cybertruck too"

Yeah, i dont have a breakdown of specifically what was wrong in all 4 of those losses... especially after starting pretty hot.

All I can tell you is I remember having the impression that the things we were doing bad seemed very fixable, but the fixes just never came.

I think we all kind of get a sense that for all his greatness, CMC was pretty stubborn. This gave us a high floor and consistency that I don't wanna downplay, it was awesome and needed! But let's not pretend we had some kind of whiz kid adept at adjusting on the fly.

I'm hopeful this new aggressive young staff can bring more of that without sacrificing the meat and potatoes we had before. I think it can be done.

Did everyone really get a new Cybertruck?
