I have stopped at many Buc-ee's and found neither of #1 to be true. At most you park within a couple hundred feet of the door. Gas takes at most 10 to 15 minutes to find a spot. Most have up to 120 spots available to fuel up.
#2 Buc-ees does not have any seating inside or outside their stores, the reason is simple, they do not want people hanging out eating, taking up space.
Just like any store, Buc-ee's is not for everyone, but they pride themselves on their washrooms, which are the cleanest you will ever see in a public place, they pay their people very well. Their starting wage is $18 to $21 an hour for everyone, work weekends and the price increase $2 an hour on Friday, $3 on Saturdays and $4 on Sundays, 401K plans, time off and insurance.
Their workforce is a lot like Costco's, they seem to enjoy being there and willing to help, something you cannot say about a lot of places.
Buc-ee's is great. Best place to stop for a restroom break and a snack or quick meal. Gas isn't as cheap there compared to the past. I've never seen all 100 pumps full at once. You can find a spot within 2 minutes, usually within a 30 second walk to the door. Great place to stretch your legs.

The very first one I stopped at, South Bound on I-95 at/near Daytona. If I remember correctly, LPGA Blvd. Took several light changes to get off the ramp, then several to make the left turn onto the access road to the Bucees. It soured me on even trying to go to another one for several years.
The other one I've been to, in Georgia, near Brunswick, has much better access from I-95. It was the one we had to park out in the extreme corner of the lot. And took 5-10 minutes to get to an open fuel pump before that.
I do like them. I compare it to the difference between an older small town smaller Walmart where you can park close and they have most of what you want. Versus the Super-Walmart where they have everything but you park a long ways away and because of its size you walk 4 times as many steps to find things.
I had my doubts, but I visited my first Buc-ee’s earlier this year. I was very impressed. The brisket sandwich and the beaver nuggets are worth the time. My second visit was about a month ago. It was about 8am. That was a great time to go, very few people.

If I have a choice, I'll use a Buc-ees. Clean bathrooms and plenty to choose from when you want to stretch the legs for 15 minutes after driving distances. Never had to wait for a pump and the store has nice atmosphere. Stopped at two in Texas this spring going down and back from the Woodlands (Madisonville and outside of Dallas), one of which had a 120 pumps. There was a line at the jerky counter, not at the pumps, although, they were busy.
Buc-ee’s is awesome. I live in Houston now so I get my fair share of access. However this might sound sac-religious but I would rather have mega kwik stars than Buc-ee’s. Casey’s expanding down here is just turning into slop with no integrity. Enjoy the Buc-ee’s in the Omaha area! But don’t lose appreciation for Kwik Star
I have never been to the one near Daytona in Florida off I-95, but driving on that interstate in Florida is a zoo anytime of the day. I have been at the one off I-95 in S. Carolina, and it's not too bad getting in and out of. The worst we have found to get into is the one in Denton Texas, because of the traffic flowing through there.
We were counting up last night, and we have visited 9 to 10 different Buc-ee's, most when we travel to see our kids or go on vacation. In fact we look for them when possible, because the wife loves the clean restrooms and I like their Strawberry Texas Tea, I always load up on that to bring back to Iowa.

I think it was very nice when I went in Lexington this past spring. In the future I would not make an extra stop like we did this time but if it was one of the options and I needed to stop I would pick it over many other gas stations. Kwik trip is the only one I put above it.
Buc-cees was a real special place when you could by a CD and a T-Shirt of your Texas Country bands that you couldn't find anywhere else.
The one in Denton is in a terrible location! The north Ft Worth location near Texas Motor Speedway is much easier to get in and out of
I dont think this is in Bondurant technically, but the location of the old 76 truck stop just off the first west bound Altoona exit on I-80 seems like a no brainer spot for some kind of development like that.
From what I understand, there is land the CoC already has planned to pitch, they just need to get it rezoned first.
The traffic through that area in Denton is a zoo to begin with, road construction that has been going on forever, while the traffic going on the Ft. Worth side is a lot lighter. I tell everyone that is driving south of the metroplex, go the Ft. Worth way, it may be a little further, but twice as fast on I-35 and they are going to join up again south of Dallas.
Agree. We always stop at the Melissa, Tx Buc-ee's (Hwy 75 - People who take 35 into Dallas are foolish). Parking is similar to parking at Hy-Vee or Wal-Mart. Never have to wait for gas. Never see a line at the registers. Never have to wait for anything really. And it's always busy. It's a pretty slick operation.
