@theshadow, How long or hard is it to get a team eligible for an NCAA season? Would it even be possible to move the women's program to this current season if the 5 for 5 rule became effective?

They're really young but tons of potential. Gap year is a good thing. Most were backups behind studs or high schoolers last yearIt’s already looking like a trophy contending team; and we don’t even have a full lineup.
Three were NAIA national champs and one was 3rd as a freshman. So there is definitely some top end results already mixed in with the high end potential of others. They're really young but tons of potential. Gap year is a good thing. Most were backups behind studs or high schoolers last year
i received my info from the coaches a couples weeks ago. It appears there may be some ambiguity in what is going to be allowed.I believe that athletes in college can pick whether they use the 5 for 5 or use the old rules. For example, Blum mentioned on the last podcast that Jaylen Raynor could have 1 additional year if the 5 for 5 passes since he played his true freshman-junior years. And Milan could also get another year of eligibility

While we may not be doing duals, I’m sure the coaches will be treating it like a season so the ladies will be entering tournaments at the weight they will most likely be at. Can’t let them hang out for over a year and not keep up with the weight changes they would be making during a season.I know we are not wrestling this fall, but has anyone put together what a potential lineup of the current commits looks like?
I’m guessing coaches meant it wouldn’t impacts any of their athletes. Sounds like only athletes that competed as true Freshman and have never redshirted or grey shirted could take advantage of 5 for 5.Specifically, the implementation options currently contemplated include:
Student-athletes whose fourth season of collegiate eligibility was completed by spring 2026: No additional eligibility.
Currently enrolled student-athletes with eligibility remaining after the 2025-26 academic year: Flexibility for schools to apply the age-based model or continue with the previous eligibility rules (four seasons to compete with five total years of eligibility), whichever is most beneficial to that individual.
Prospects expected to graduate from high school in spring 2027: Age-based model only.
Prospects expected to graduate from high school in spring 2026, regardless of planned enrollment date: Age-based model only.
Prospects who graduated prior to spring 2026 and have not enrolled: The NCAA Eligibility Center will review the prospect's individual circumstances and apply the age-based model or existing delayed enrollment eligibility rules, whichever is most beneficial to that individual.
