I may check in occasionally but won't be some sort of de facto fan of any of their teams (I didn't even know where Audi went).

I'm more curious how CMC's teams look. Like will they piss around a lot but still just kind of hang around and have a chance or fire on all cylinders more often?

We actually have the possibility of playing Audi two or three times next season.
I feel like the Big 12/Oklahoma State is going to do everything in their power to not have them play in Ames....and honestly, I don't know why.....she might get a bad reception when she's back or she may not, but regardless they'll beat us by 40 anyway.

I know several people noted they aren't going to "actively" watch, and I agree, but I interpret the OP more as "appearing in a different uniform," because even if you don't seek the games, we're going to see them in highlights/recaps.

My first reaction was to choose Milan, but that's probably recency and because MBB is my passion (seeing stories splashing "committed" with him wearing UK uniform makes me sad).

Rocco is in a more higher-profile sport at main position at a hate-able school in Big Ten, with possible playoff appearance potential, plus a ton of other ex-ISU players alongside him. So that's my vote.

I won't care too much about Audi the player, I don't follow WBB much anymore.

In each case, it'll just be a weird feeling for ISU fans, and it won't be the last I'm sure.

I know some will treat it the same but I won't actively cheer against milan. Cmc and company though I am fully against and might watch some of their games they are down late in hopes to see them go down.

Depends on the meaning of your question. I couldn’t stand to watch Crooks as a Cyclone. I won’t make a special effort to watch any of them but if I had to pick it would be Rocco because Milan leaving doesn’t really effect our program. We know TJ will always bring in players. The loss of MC caused a mass exodus forcing Rogers to start from scratch.

For me, Rocco will be the hardest to watch. Penn State will likely be on TV more being a BIG school and having a cake schedule that makes playoffs more likely. Also, the BIG has a lot of OTA channel games (NBC, CBS and FOX). It will also be challenging because half the team and most of the coaches are former Cyclones. I'm not going out of my way to watch Kentucky MBB and I'm not going on ESPN+ to watch Audi Crooks.

Anything involving Penn State will be annoying next year. It'll largely include the core of a team we all expected to compete for a Big-12 title. Milan will be annoying, but our basketball team will still be very good so it's hard to get too frustrated about that one.

Eh. Who cares? Milan i cant blame because he didn't have much of a choice. Audi is what it is, tbh i got tired of watching her just stand and watch her 4 teammates play defense, and as far as Rocco goes, i dont blame him either. He did some great things for the Perry community, and there are still Xbox's in the Ames Hospital that he donated.

As an ISU fan i probably wont spend much time watching them anyways, and i think our MBB and football teams will be just fine this upcoming year regardless.

I had to go with Audi. She was the ultimate home-state kid—looked at the entire country and said, "Nah, I'll stay right here and drag ISU to relevance myself." She didn't just play for the program; she basically was the program.

The worst part? It's not enough that she left. The universe decided Iowa State fans should have to watch her suit up against us multiple times a year. It's like your ex moving out, immediately dating your neighbor, and then mowing their lawn shirtless every Saturday just to make sure you see it.

As an Iowa State fan, I’ve reached the final stage of grief: acceptance.

Rocco Becht didn’t just transfer to Penn State. He packed up the moving truck, followed Matt Campbell to State College, and apparently left the door open so half the roster could follow him. Reports had Penn State adding more than a dozen former Cyclones, including Becht and a long list of Iowa State transfers.

The worst part? It’s not even hard to imagine. Becht enters the season as one of the most experienced quarterbacks in college football, and Penn State's schedule has already been described as favorable enough to put them in the playoff conversation.

Now we get the joy of watching Penn State roll through a schedule that looks like it was generated by a Make-A-Wish committee, finish 11-1, and have every national analyst say, "What an incredible turnaround by Matt Campbell." Meanwhile, Iowa State fans will be sitting in the corner screaming, "THAT'S OUR OFFENSE! THAT'S OUR QUARTERBACK! THAT'S OUR TIGHT END! THAT'S OUR SAFETY! THAT'S PROBABLY OUR BACKUP LONG SNAPPER TOO!"

So congratulations to Penn State. You didn't hire Matt Campbell. You purchased Iowa State's roster in the transfer portal DLC pack

Eh, it will be circa ISU 2021 and they'll go 9-3 with their cake schedule

By the time the seasons come, it wont be hard.

Rocco - we get it, coach left, get paid, Peace out. Hope the grass is greener for you.

Milan - we get it. College pays him better than pro. Good for you young man. He already knows grass will only be greener in the bank account.

Audi - we get it. Her time to earn is now, and she owed it to herself to find the highest bidder. Too bad that team is a conference opponent. After 3 years of Audi ball, another early tournament exit excited no one.

No hard feelings, go get your money from people crazy enough to give it to you. But don't expect me to treat you the same as when you had the Cyclone uniform on.

Penn St will be the hardest for sports fans to ignore. The way the sport is marketed means we'll see mentions, ads, etc... even during our broadcasts.

Audi won't really impact me, I think off the court, she's the biggest loss (great ambassador, local kid, huge fanbase with youngters) but her game being so onesided could be frustrating to watch, I only watch/pay attention to ISU WBB so it will be easy tune her out. I also think she'll have the least amount of success as the others so it won't be in our faces as much. Her impact was bigger off the court and in marketing, she brings eyeballs.

Milan will be toughest for me bc CBB is my favorite sport, I watch more non ISU stuff than any other sport and it will hurt bc we'd be a top 10 team with him on our roster, even if you take away one of our transfers.
