You should let JP, Cook and Yormark know your feelings on that idiotic take. It's more rational than your government involvement.
Shouldn’t he just let your billionaire know? I mean as he said the big 12 runs through Lubbock and Yormark is just his puppet. You should let JP, Cook and Yormark know your feelings on that idiotic take.
All four P4 teams would be 66 after included ND. At then number it would come down to support by the university, attendance a few other factors. If that is the case, ISU has average more fans than about 16 of those teams from the B12 and ACC. As far as media ratings ISU was 33rd overall last year, averaging 1.31 million per game.I can easily see all of, or the vast majority willing to commit, of the P4 going along. No need to have a G5 sacrifice or to play those lower teams anymore which raises the media value a bit. (Also the big east is an easy add)
Now unfortunately a lot of that power will be even more in the P2 than it already is which is why JP firing his mouth off is potentially shooting ISU in the foot. Again, it gained nothing but has the potential to cost the university
I’m sure some will but I don’t even know what the case would be.Hope there are some lawyers on this forum willing to take up the cause to go after the Big 10 and SEC if they breakaway. I'll pitch in for their time. Not counting on our Iowa politicians to help us out.
LOL, this BS post coming from someone who thinks all billionaires are amoral. Any comments from you regarding Campbell should be duly ignored.Shouldn’t he just let your billionaire know? I mean as he said the big 12 runs through Lubbock and Yormark is just his puppet.
Love that he tweets that out and you still just ride him and come running when he jingles his zipper
Yep they are, but doesn’t stop your commish from being a puppet, after all your saviors own words are that “Brett forgot the big12 runs through Lubbock”LOL, this BS post coming from someone who thinks all billionaires are amoral. Any comments from you regarding Campbell should be duly ignored.
The whole point of breaking away is to give the B10 and SEC less competition to compete with. Delegitimize other conferences. Get a bigger media deal. Adding teams that don't create more value but still get a piece of the pie wouldn't make sense in this scenario. All four P4 teams would be 66 after included ND. Pollards comments will not matter if they go to 64 teams, nor at 48 because they are not going to make the cut if its that low.
Very true but breaking away with all current members of the B10 and SEC brings a lot of teams that do not move the needle. For every Alabama, Ohio State there are plenty of Vanderbilts, Purdues, NW and others. Out of the 34 teams only about 10 to 12 move the needle, the rest are just pretty much the same media wise. The whole point of breaking away is to give the B10 and SEC less competition to compete with. What is gained?Pollard understands that ISU is not getting an invite if the Big10 and SEC break away and invites other teams to join them. So he loses nothing by bringing it all out in the open.
But they already have the conference tie-in. College presidents aren't going to kick founding members out.Very true but breaking away with all current members of the B10 and SEC brings a lot of teams that do not move the needle. No, the primary point of breaking away is to keep ESPN and Fox payouts well below market value not only for the SEC and B10 but to devalue the rest of FBS as well. It’s why Sankey and Petitti don’t want media rights pooling, it’s highly detrimental to ESPN and Fox. JP made it clear earlier this week how Puppet Boy Petitti is working and lobbying on behalf of Fox.The whole point of breaking away is to give the B10 and SEC less competition to compete with. CW was on 365 Sports and they had a great discussion on why Pollard said what he said. Part of it was Pollard has been there for everything, OuT 1 and OuT the sequel, Big 10 forcing revenue sharing on Iowa State with a myriad of rules, but the Big 10 and SEC opting out of the rules, etc. Pollard was sick and tired of the crap from Big 10 and SEC, but he didn’t make it like a featured part of the night, but was being honest when he was asked about it from Travis Hines.Pollard understands that ISU is not getting an invite if the Big10 and SEC break away and invites other teams to join them. LOL, you’re really off the wall here on multiple counts. “Calling his base of fans slobs” is moronic twitter verse material. And if you really think he isn’t building in-state allies with Cook or in-state political positioning, you’re out of touch. And there are reasons why he is on the Fed Committee and obvious political reasons why he made the comments on Monday. What is gained?
Just another sign that JP isn’t good at this stuff. I mean, he calls his base slobs. He isn’t building allies and doing political positioning in the state of Iowa, let alone outside of it
He’s a bean counter. Perhaps CFO
They can do it like the SWC did. Disband the conference. That’s what ultimately could happen, if Michigan and Ohio State get their way. It’s already been done once. There is a template. But they already have the conference tie-in. College presidents aren't going to kick founding members out.
It's just wishful thinkingThey can do it like the SWC did. Disband the conference. That’s what ultimately could happen, if Michigan and Ohio State get their way. It’s already been done once. There is a template.
The Ohio State AD talked about doing it during COVIDIt's just wishful thinking
Ya because the B10 wouldn't let them play during COVID. Do you think that example is relevant to this? The Ohio State AD talked about doing it during COVID
Thor board loves to bring up the covid season like it is somehow relevant to anything, kinda wildYa because the B10 wouldn't let them play during COVID. Do you think that example is relevant to this?
