Not calling you out in particular but I always find it funny when people say stuff like this about Ames as if it doesn't only take 10 minutes to travel the entirety of Ames.

Do people on the north side of Ames really not go down to Duff because it takes too long to get there?

I live pretty close to county line road. I avoid the East side and duff as much as possible.

I live in north Ames, and I avoid Duff at all costs. Duff is the worst.

There used to be a really shady 2 story motel there. It was demoed and then the lot sat empty forever. I assume the bank bought it and built that parc out of a unique idea but its a brutal location.
For a food truck lot you need safe walkability, and that aint it. Would have made a lot a more sense where that old Mojazz lot is at by Cafe Beaudelaire.

They and El Azteca are packed most nights. Not many places to eat in north Ames.

Having Wallaby's, El Azteca, The Cafe, and Wasabi in Somerset within walking distance of the same parking spot is pretty decent in my opinion.

From everything I've read about this, the city had no hand in planning or paying for it. This was all Community Choice Credit Union's idea.

100%, yes.

And that's not unique to Ames. People tend to stick to their neighborhoods regardless of how big/small their full city is. Sometimes a 5-minute drive is 4 minutes longer than someone wants to do.

Well Community Choice is obviously reading this thread, they just responded to an 8 month old post on Google reviews for the Parc only 15 minutes ago.

The food truck lot on east Lincoln way isn’t a city project. It was build by the credit union next to it. Which might explain the location. The funny thing is, Rico’s has a spot just east of it that is always busy.

Wallaby's has very poor food in my opinion, El Azteca has great food, but I can only eat Mexican a limited amount of time before it gets tiresome. The Cafe is great but has a very limited menu, and I have never tried Wasabi, is that the new place going in down from the Cafe? As many homes as there are in the northern part of Ames there just is not a lot here to eat, none unless you want a sit down meal. No subs, no fast food, nothing for the its getting late and what are going to eat crowd.

You got Subway, Dq, Bbops, and soon a KFC up there. It doesn't help Northern Lights has been a revolving door of restaurants for 2 decades.
