BREAKING: Matt Campbell, Penn State in final stages

I used to think he’d leave after all those seniors graduated from Iowa State but in hindsight it’s clear to me those players were part of the ‘package’ Penn State was buying. Part of the conversation had to be Campbell detailing which guys he could bring to PSU to help win right away without rebuilding.
The timing was poor for ISU, the team was laden with juniors, so it made it perfect for Campbell to take the PSU job and take the players with him. I understand why he did it, to help build the culture out there, but it really lowered my feelings about him and what he was saying for the past 10 years.
The longer the Penn State search went on, the more it became likely that they were going after Campbell, he was very low on their list but when everyone started to turn them down, he became the pick.

I wonder how much being at ISU hurt him, because he should have been at the top of their coaching search, still young, over a decade as a head coach and beating teams regularly that were more talent ladened.

get ready for about another 25 articles just like this one.

you think it's bad now?

Wait until PSU is 10-0 (with their joke of a schedule) and all the media will sing Matt's praises all over again!
I'm excited for the articles about how Penn State's resources and recruiting make it so much easier to win there
All while Rocco is passing to Brahmer and handing off to Carson Hansen..

To be fair, the whole dumb emoji makes CF quite a bit more toxic than it needs to be. There are a few people who only use the dumb emoji and rarely post about anything. It's childish, imo.
I've heard a rumor that when you use the dumb button, the other person rages and has to go back to delete every post that has a dumb react on it

Oh for sure, I meant it more regarding my naiveté. I thought it was the perfect reason to stay put one more year, but in reality it was the perfect reason to jump at this time
I always thought what he did at ISU would provide him the perfect jumping off point to land one of the premium coaching jobs. At a school that would have plenty of money and resources, located in the upper part of the country. Campbell would be a total fish out of water at an SEC school. No side ways jobs, only jobs that were heads and shoulders above ISU, and that is what he did.

Also, the claim was "only use the dumb emoji and rarely post about anything".

I'd like to submit exhibit A:

The guys he brought aren't some huge talent upgrade for Penn State, not sure that would be this huge selling point.
