WBB: 2026 Transfer Portal

It's pretty painful looking at these lists and seeing 3 of our former players rated so highly, yet we didn't do anything special with them.
It is what it is. Sometimes having too many star players on 1 team is not always a good thing either. Showing my age a bit but I remember when the Lakers tried to load up by adding Gary Payton and Karl Malone to the Shaq and Kobe duo along with bringing back Horace Grant and they failed to win a championship. 56-26 record which was 2nd in the western conference but lost 1-4 in the finals to the Pistons.

We'll see how Audi, Jada, and Addy do this year in a new system. Of the 3 I'm really interested to see how OSU runs their offense when they added McGill who was a high-volume shooter too. McGill took 19.1 shots a game Audi 15.9 and they brought in a few other shooters that got a fair amount of shots at their previous schools too. Will they be able to find a good balance amongst them all or will it be tougher to get the most out of McGill or Audi when both are used to being the focal point of their prior team's offense.

I'm just ready to move on and whatever happens with our former players then whatever. They are gone and no point in looking back anymore. Either this season is going to be a rough one or Bill somehow will pull off one of the best coaching jobs in his career with a bunch of unknowns coming in at this point. I'm not too optimistic about our chances this season but this is the bed Bill made so he'll have to wear it one way or another.

They are very talented players. It is pretty obvious we underachieved the last two seasons. Lots of differing opinions on why.

We will be the Euro team in B12. Maybe we can use international rules? Can we get a few giant players that high five above the rim!

Kansas State is doing the exact same thing with euros btw
Well yeah, they struck gold with Nastja Claessens last season, so I expect they would go back to that well again! Of course Claessens was playing pro ball in the Belgian Women's League at age 15, won ROY / POY at age 18 and was selected to the Belgian Olympic Team. She was selected late in the WNBA draft in 2024 but stayed in Europe. If we had access to such Europeans, life would be good. I really enjoy watching Claessens play - she guards 2-5 and has a great understanding of the game, letting it come to her rather than forcing things.

The Belgian ISU is recruiting doesn't appear to be progressing at the same pace as Nastja, but she's probably worth a flyer. Her stats aren't particularly impressive, but she's consistently been on the Belgian U16,17 & 18 teams, so she's getting tournament play. Beggars can't be choosers...

Agree. Sometimes what appear to be great ingredients for a recipe fall flat and don’t mix well.
