ISU FB "Spring Showcase" April 25 at 10:30 am

If you’re talking players and coaches, of course they don’t think it will be rough. They don’t practice or play to lose. And I hope they prove people wrong. I’d be thrilled. Of course he didn’t come here hoping to go 4-8. Lol
So if they are not players and coaches, then who are the “people close to the program”?

Maybe I'm in the minority, but from I watched today I thought we looked like closer to a 4-8 team than an 8-4 team. That being said, there is a lot of time between now and Labor Day so there is plenty of opportunity for growth considering the entire team is playing together for the first time this spring.
Cubs fans were ready to throw in the towel after two weeks. Then they won 10 in a row. Anything is possible. It’s an early scrimmage.

Beat Iowa!

One thing I noticed was that our punting wasn't great....but they still have plenty of time to work on that
This is my greatest fear for special teams. Perkins has been solid since his freshman year game vs Iowa when he got at least one punt blocked.

No one that you know that is "close to the program" has told you anything about this year being rough. You might know people in the athletic department that have said that, but i can guarantee you, nobody that is anywhere near that program thinks it will be rough.

Jimmy didnt come here to go 4-8

This year will be a total crapshoot. Most of the conference is a big unknown. So we could be better or worse than expected, and either way end up with a surprisingly good or bad record.

Yes, ISU has a new coaching staff this year. But OSU, KSU, and WVU also have new coaching staffs this year.

Yes, ISU has the lowest returning production in the Big 12 this year. But ASU, TCU, WVU, Baylor, CU and Utah also all lost 45%+ of their returning production. https://www.espn.com/college-footba...ll-returning-production-2026-notre-dame-texas

That's 8 other conference teams dealing with the same issues we are. And Iowa actually has less returning production than ISU does. That's half the teams on our schedule, and somebody has to win each game.
