Iowa State is participating in The Hall of Fame Classic at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City

Man, why complain about a game replacing some sub 300 opponent that everyone already whines about? Probably good to have a neutral court game after the Iowa game instead of sleepwalking in Hilton. It’s not like this game replaced the game in SF or the Purdue game.
Agree, for the most part. Missouri State might not be much for NET#, but at least it's neutral site and not home (so that helps) and almost certainly better than most of the usual buy games would be.

We still can have about 6 of those anyway.

True, fairly solid.

I wouldn't mind trying to get a H/A similar to Purdue, but would have to be the away game since Purdue is home this season, so that gives up additional home non-con. But even that leaves 6 open slots for what are likely the buy game cupcakes.

To this point, we know we have:
Players Era
Players Era
Players Era
Purdue
at Iowa
vs. Missouri State (Hall of Fame Classic)
Players Era will most likely be stacked.

Neutral site games don't go under the media deals so the rights can be sold which is why teams receive payouts. The money will go directly to mbb since its neutral, anything in Hilton goes to the Athletic department
I wonder if all 4 teams get the same payout.

Missouri State jumped from FCS to FBS in football, so they must be wanting to spend some money. Would have nearly been a Q3 game last year and decent shot they improve at least a little bit.

We're probably getting some money instead of paying money for a buy game.

If there is a return game at Hilton, that beats a low major.

And lets be honest, if this means one fewer game in Hilton this year, season ticket holders aren't going to get a discount. The basketball Season ticket price is going to be the same whether this game is in KC or Hilton, so there is no way this is costing the Athletic Department any revenue. Its a net positive for sure financially.

I love the dedication of ISU fans to travel, but I question the sanity of any fan that attends this game (assuming they don't already live within 30 minutes of the arena).
I live within 30 mintues and do not blame anyone for questioning my sanity

I'm good with the neutral site and don't care if it's a mid major or high major I just wanna play a good team

There is an extra game now so season tickets holders haven't lost any games yet

Well, 3 of those 4 were at Players Era (which ISU is going again in '26, also return game at home vs. Purdue). Probably main comparison with HOF would be neutral vs. Mississippi State last season.
I tried to google our new schedule and couldn’t find anything.

Not excited about this game...but then I remember that TJ is 57-5 in Nov/Dec, we've made the tourney every year, and our metrics have been so good we've been accused of manipulating the NET.

Love the H-H with Iowa and Purdue, hope we can keep that going with another high major if we don't extend the Purdue deal.

I'm going to assume going forward the schedule frameworks stays unchanged: holiday tourney, Iowa, 2 neutrals in South Dakota and KC, and hopefully 1-2 other decent games.

I don't see a problem with this. We play enough tough teams so we don't need to be scheduling them for every game. Personally it gives me a chance to go experience a game in KC since the Big 12 tourny is during tax season which doesn't allow me to get down there then.

It ain’t even close to the same experience. I agree though, our non conference will be plenty good with Memphis in Sioux Falls (this one is much better to experience), Purdue at home, Iowa on the road, and players era tournament.

Nothing official yet on cyclones.com, that's usually my first go-to, not sure when they start updating that for a new season.

Players Era has at least a partial list of teams, uncertain where best place to find it is. Obviously won't know matchups for a while.

I think full schedule usually set by August.
