Twister Sister Summary - Coaching Possibilities

Why do people think she would be a good coach other than she was a Cyclone for five years? She was mostly this stoic personality that no one really knows. She's never spoken much and rarely showed any emotion. I'll admit to never much taking on a big liking for her.
I would like her as a coach in the way she's been a champion for ISU. I mean it in the same vein as people saying they'd like to see Niang coach here, just because it would be neat to see. If she went somewhere else and showed that she wasn't a good coach, I wouldn't want her to coach here.

I have no idea what makes a good/great coach. Often times it seems like equal parts luck, skill and program support.

Ryan was the only one coaching during many games last season, the rest were just there. Not saying she is even close to ready, but she may have the intelligence and understanding of players/teams.

From the way the staff has described her over the years it seems she has the mindset and understanding of the game to be a coach. As mentioned she needs seasoning in a couple of other programs.

Somewhat related, potentially: Coach Schaben just changed her twitter account from "LadyCyclones" to "CoachSchaben" and unfollowed around 300 of her 500 follows. Those who were unfollowed include all current members of the coaching staff (not counting Bill, who isn't on social media anymore) and players on the 26-27 roster.
If she is leaving the staff, would not surprise me if they are setting up a HC in waiting which may suggest Ezell.

is there a change coming with the staff to bring in the next coach?

Is Steyer still considered the Top Assistant. Figure if they brought in a Coachbin waiting it would be in Steyer's position.

The same reason that every time a player leaves the MBB team and then a year later announces they are back in the portal, this board is full of "I'd like to see XXX come back!". People like what they know.

No info, but if it really is Bill’s last year I would be shopping my resume now before I’m out of a job.

Just saw that. No NCAA teams and this year was 10-20?
Wyoming is a tough job but her resume doesn't suggest good odds of success at ISU.

And while Bill has earned the right to leave upon the expiration of his current contract, there needs to be a clean break from him, his current staff and his coaching tree after 2026-27.

I followed her teams in the past and liked the style of play. It was not like what Bill has done the last few years. Also IMO it is tough to get players to come to Wyoming.

So the cyber sleuthing is cool, but has anything tangible come out about Coach Schaban? If a sacrificial lamb is required for the mass exodus, it wasn’t going to be Steyer or Billy. If Latoja is leaving ISU, hope she finds a new spot quickly.

Several of her most recent follows are related to Texas State WBB (where Chris Kielsmeier was just hired), so it's possible she's at least under consideration for an assistant position there.

Yeah…she’s added about four follows related to
TSU
