Ozempic, GLP-1 and other modern diabetes / weight loss medications

Artificial sweeteners in diet soda do not make it 'just fine' for you. That's what it means.

That is a pretty bad amount of non-science content for a couple hospital sites. The studies don't really show what those sites claim.

Can you post the real studies then?

Are they confirming that diet soda is healthy due to artificial sweeteners?

That link is making a lot of claims without citing anything (at least I couldn't find a link to any citations). There are definitely observational studies that show a relationship between artificial sweeteners and some poor health outcomes but that doesn't prove anything. I know there are some potential changes in the gut microbiome but we don't know enough yet in that space to say if it is good or bad (also everything we consume is changing our microbiome). Look I'm not advocating people go drink a gallon of diet soda everyday but is absolutely safe in moderation and as part of an overall healthy diet.

What do you mean by healthy? Is it providing a bunch of really great nutrients to the body? No. Can it cut out calories for people who like soda or can it be something that provides people enjoyment in there life? Yes.

Narrowing in on one thing like diet soda without taking into account the rest of the person's diet and lifestyle just isn't really helpful.

So there's observational studies making a connection...I'm gonna stick to it not being just fine.

Lower calorie beer with alcohol is still beer with alcohol.

A "connection" can be correlation where causation does not exist. "aspartame can be correlated with diabetes/obesity" can simply be a result of those with diabetes/obesity often taking that as a first avenue to reduce sugar/calorie intake.

Stab in the dark here. A friend of mine started on Zepbound about a month or so ago. Low dose. A week or so later he started having some hearing issues, ear pressure, feeling muffled and some ringing. Waiting to get in to the doc. On reddit some have had some issues. Anybody here ever heard of that? Tia.

I hadn't heard the term food noise until about a month ago. I also hadn't experienced a glp-1 until 3 weeks ago. The term Food Noise is absolutely spot on.

I'm overweight and technically obese. I've never been one to be called skinny. Over my life exercise has come and gone. I was 158ish in 2014 at the finish line of an Ironman. Kids came along in 2016/18. Priorities changed.

I absolutely know what it takes to lose weight and i can do that with or without glp-1. I absolutely cannot make food noise go away without glp-1.
Spot on.

The artificial sweeteners' role in them is factually not fine to consume.
I just look at the consumer. The day I find a healthily looking person routinely drinking Diet Coke will be the first time. People love to justify it by comparing to some other drink that is also terrible for you.

I drink like 4 a day (Coke Zero) and I guarantee you would call me skinny. It is my caffeine of choice.

LOL. Yeah, I regret to inform ya that - many, many, MANY healthy people drink Diet Coke and even... (GASP!)... zero calorie energy drinks. As in, very regularly.
