Audi Crooks to Transfer

What is their source for this claim?

I'm not saying it wasn't a thing as it can and does happen no matter how much success a group has or how great things are early, just curious.
Didn’t they were referring to a source. Rather their opinion based on what they observed.

These guys both have a lot of insight onto the teams, but they also can't spill their beans or they would lose access. And it was interesting to hear the numbers that Bloom was saying Williams crooks and brown will get. He said Williams will ask close to a half million, Brown 6 to 800 and crooks close to a mill which is our whole budget. A lot here saying Williams won't get anything but I disagree. I think she's a top point guard. In the right system she'll do really well. She's a Lipsey, not a pure shooter, but a total hustler, good passer and a traditional point guard. She was pretty much the only person I enjoyed watching on the team this year save crooks.

When people say Williams won’t get much, they are talking Alisha

If a player like Audi or Clark, in essence, sucks all the oxygen out of the room for themselves, they better make it worth the ride for the other teammates. Clark did by taking the Iowa WBB where it has never been. Audi has taken the team to first round losses. I am guessing that the other players felt like they were basically carrying Audi on defense, and then having her demand the ball even while double teamed, got tiring.
Gee, my guess is Clark had teammates more offensively adept than Audi’s? You know, better than the 43-42-40% field goal percentages that Brown, Williams, Hare shot this year?

She also had teammates that were allowed to have layups and short shots. Audi took the lion shares of those and if you paid attention to when they did drive, Audi didnt move so it plugged the lane up quite a bit. Clark drove and dished off a lot of I believe they had a post at like 75% or so one year. Was Audi up in that area?

Since I'm being referenced here, my point was while they were at Iowa State. Audi has been featured by Pat McAfee, Barstool, Sportscenter, Good Morning America, on and on. While Purdy and Tyrese are much more notable now, they weren't (in my opinion) as culturally relevant while at Iowa State. Appreciate the discussion.
Interesting conversation! I have a retired friend who grew up in Minneapolis but has spent the majority of his adult life in the western suburbs of Chicago. He owns a vacation home in Wisconsin. In short, my buddy is a B1G guy who follows volleyball & WBB closely.

My friend is a knowledgeable sports fan, specifically women's, yet he doesn't watch much Big XII. He knows who Audi Crooks is, but he really hasn't seen her play much. He started calling me when he saw articles indicating Audi would be a good signing for the Lady Gophers. Now he's asking me why she doesn't have more rebounds and assists!?!

In short, being culturally relevant and people actually having watched her play might be two entirely different things. I know the names of many star players in other conferences because they briefly appeared on MRed's ISU WBB Recruiting lists, but I've not watched much Olivia Olsen at Michigan or Toby Fornier at Duke.

There is absolutely zero chance this is true. None. I swear some of these rumors have to be damage control from the program. Because there is no way a women's basketball player who averaged 5 points and 3 rebounds in 12 minutes on a very average team is getting "well into 6 figures."

It's not hard to figure out how this stuff happens. A bunch of girls leave a decaying program and the coaches and staff need an excuse beyond the awful environment and archaic schemes. So they start rumors of the great NIL boogeyman and his 6 figure contracts. Give me a break.
People are grossly overestimating what the ladies are getting paid.

I still admire Audi and wish her well. But why should I take her “the grass is greener where you water it” proverb seriously when she isn’t living by it herself? She can go wherever she wants—that’s her right—but she lost me somewhere along Highway 30. She talked about making the grass greener by investing where you are, yet she left before giving herself the chance to finish that here. For me, the bloom is off.

I agree with Blum’s comment on Crooks at ISU:
“I don’t think there’s been a more nationally relevant player - in any sport - than Audi Crooks.”

She’s worth more than most football players; we don’t even know 99% of their names.
Ummm, Brock Purdy is a household name as a starting QB in the NFL for a historic franchise. I'd probably bet the house that more people in the US know his name than Audi's.

If you listen to Blum, he says WHILE at Iowa State. Purdy wasn't nationally known nor nationally relevant WHILE at Iowa State.

I don’t think the AD or Foundation started pushing anything before January 1, which was when they formally took over, so there was IMO a 6 odd month gap between the collective announcing it was winding down and Jan 1 where there wasn’t much of anything going on it seemed like, although I’m sure there was stuff behind the scenes with corporations, but there was no outreach to donors to the collective until after January. Even after then, I got a couple emails from the foundation and saw a couple posts from the Cyclone Club/ AD about the We Will Fund. It definitely doesn’t feel like the fund is a priority
I’m a past donor to We Will and Cyclone Club. ISU Grad. Two kids are ISU Grads. Season ticket holder. No reach out from the Foundation at all. Odd…

I guess I'm not in agreement with all the talk of people not enjoying playing with Audi. I think it's really important to separate personality from playing style. Audi can have a great personality (and I think she does) but, it's just grossly unrealistic for us to expect our other players to be happy playing a style where 1 player gets the ball 95% of the time.

Bill has long since played a style centered around 1 star player (Crooks, Jones, etc) This is a coaching and a Bill problem. The playing style causes the rest of the team to be unhappy and rightfully so!!

Players want to ball and no one but Audi was allowed to do that. I can't blame them for leaving.

Basically the same for me too- past We Will Donor, dropped back my donation to the Cyclone Club, grad and season ticket holder. Minus a mass text for Forever True day, I’ve heard nothing- I don’t even hear anything from the department I graduated from or CALS. At this point I’m not so sure if it’s odd or just the foundation/AD don’t want to try.

But last year was about as bad of basketball as I’ve willingly watched in my life. Literally middle school quality of ball. That’s a huge part of the problem and more in our direct control than our current NIL situation.

Couldn’t agree more. It’s also not isolated to last year, although it was the zenith of “there is one good player on this middle school team” offense.

It fair to say it wasn’t an exciting offense, but it would have been a bad idea to do anything else. We were the top team in the Big 12 in scoring and 12th in the nation in PPG. Hard to argue we should have done anything else.

Defense was the reason we underperformed.
