I-passes and EZ passes are both free. I highly recommend them for travelling from Illinois through the northeast. They don't save you money, but you don't have to stop at any of the toll booths.

I drive part of this a couple times per year. If you take 80 through IL it's only a small toll just next to the IN line. Maybe $2.I just mapped a trip to Pittsburgh I want to take this summer and it says it costs over $50 in tolls one way. What the ****?? It's I 90 all the way to Cleveland and then down to Pit. Are the tolls all in Indiana and Ohio? If I take a southern more route, which is an hour or so longer, it says only about $5.
I think there is a charge to purchase the transponder. At least there was when I got IPASS about 10 years ago. But also came preloaded with a few $$$ worth of credit. Not sure about any of this but that's how I'm remembering it. I purchased at a grocery store (authorized sales source) in Rock Island because it was nearby an I could figure it out before the trip.I-passes and EZ passes are both free. Brown chicken, brown cow. That's next month.
You may be right on the transponder costing us. It has been a while. As for I pass & EZ pass being the same, I was thinking about the K pass that takes us through the Kansas Turnpike. Never have bother to get the one for Texas. We just avoid Houston and we're mostly good.I think there is a charge to purchase the transponder. At least there was when I got IPASS about 10 years ago. Fixed for nostalgia.Test.
My forums home-page no longer has bold text on new threads or old threads with posts I have not read. They're all normal text now.
I thought perhaps I needed to log in, but it says I am logged in.
Thought I'd post something and see if there's something different now.
Edit: It let me post, so that still worked. Decided to reboot my laptop and now all is well. Thank you Mr. Roboto.
Actually, I am watching the Mr. Robot series right now, with Christian Slater and Rami Malek.Fixed for nostalgia.
