Not watching, but that is extra fuel for what if.

I still think ISU could have beaten UT without Jefferson had the game been called tightly.

Overall the refs were consistent and, quite frankly, exactly what would benefit the Cyclones against most teams. However, UT took adnavtage to just overwhelm them physically. Put ‘em in foul trouble early and make them tentative about push offs, holds, and checks and I think ISU could have generated a lot more offense and live ball turnovers.
 
Michigan is in the Final Four for the first time since 2018 and the 9th time overall. They are 7-1 in the National Semifinals. They have won in their last seven National Semifinal games. Michigan is 1-0 as a #1 seed in the National Semifinals.

So 1-6 in the National Championship Game.

You couldn't give it to them, though. They lost 2 of their last 5 regular season games, and they were NOT good losses - to a sub .500 Creighton, and then to a really bad Marquette. And then the cherry to that suck cake was getting blown out by St. John's in the Big East Tournament. At least Florida had won 12 in a row before they finally lost in the SEC Tournament, and while they had a lot of losses, they were all to Tournament teams with the exception of Auburn, who, despite having a losing record, was one of the last 4 out, if not THE last team out.

The problem is this year no one was worthy of that final #1, and I wouldn't even make the case for Houston or Iowa State.

@danvillecyclone Teddy Valentine was not officiating today in Chicago and is not the high knees official. You can disagree all you want, but it is a fact. A simple google search goes a long way

I have a really hard time getting on board with a team that doesn’t win the regular season or tournament in their conference getting a 1 seed. I know its probably happened, but I don’t think it should.

Don’t agree. We foul a lot. Lots of body checking, lots of hands on the ball handler. That’s our defensive style.
Otz doesn’t want a tightly called game.

That may be true, but if that’s your idea of a joke, then I’m guessing you are the guy that doesn’t even get invited to the party that I’m not a hoot at.

No where in your post was it framed as a joke. You were just wrong, had your wrongness pointed out, and then got mad.

If you really don’t know who the high knees guy is, which I’m guessing is the case, I’d suggest googling Jeffery Anderson. Might make you realize why your “joke” was dumb.

Tennessee showed today what happens when you do not shoot a huge percentage, they were only 32% and lost by 33 points. They shot like that against ISU and we beat them.

It is classic Hawkeye-ism to wax poetic about what fraction of the game you won, proclaiming it as a rare species of victory.

I get it. The Cubs suck.

So maybe reconsider a new team.
