**** Official 2026 MBB Spring Transfer Portal Thread ****

Buchanan is a fantastic second guy that can get position and score when a primary guy draws the defense. He does not have the moves to be a primary. Maybe coach Green can develop that this offseason, but I have my doubts. If Pleta can develop those skills, Buchanan becomes a better player.
We need a center or a power forward who can rebound. Blake does not add much down low to be honest. Love the guy. He just seems to have all the athletic ability but don't understand how to rebound or finish at the rim other than dunking.
I think Blake does fine in the rebounding department. He was the second best rebounder after JJeff.

My ISU science/math/psych. classes taught things are not always as they appear and to look at data whenever possible. So, here are the rebounding numbers for the season for JJeff and Blake:

JJeff: .24 reb/min. Blake: .23 reb/min.

Where are all the cyclone fans on X tracking who the coaches are following??

Trevian Carson is the only silent commit we know of currently
Ugh, I guess. How many more 6'3 guards do we need? The history of TJ shows he only plays 8 guys a game. If who we expect to return, return that means (6 already not including freshman)

Buchanan/Pleta
Momcilovic
Bateman
Toure/Williams

With the biggest toss-up returner being Momcilovic we better focus on a PF starter and a 6'6+ Wing guy.
Sure, I'll take Carson if he wants to be here and I'd fully trust him next year more than the incoming freshman, but this one doesn't move the needle much

I think you need to break it down against Elite big men versus average or less than average. 10 of our wins came against teams that were not on our level, which is pretty normal. But I found when he went against actual people who were his size are bigger as he's very small for a big 12 center, he seemed to disappear. I also think he has weak hands because he only ever dunks with two hands, which is a much easier dunk to block. Overall, he just needs to get stronger in the same with Plenta

I think Dorian Ronaldo-Kolman is going to surprise people next year. He is ultra athletic. He may be able to play the four because he may be able to guard multiple positions. Not sure how our offense looks next year without Jefferson playing the 4.
The scout on him has been that he’s incredibly raw and will need some time to develop. I’d keep your expectations in check.

Momcilovic was the most prolific shooter in the country this year and the most prolific shooter in the history of Iowa State.

He has done nothing but represent the University with pure class.

He will likely be a preseason All American.

On top of that all, I can almost gaurantee you he is going to eat MILLIONS he could earn elsewhere to finish his career at Iowa State so that TJ can build a competitive roster around him. And yet people want to throw stones at him...why?????? My goodness the people doing that are freaking losers!

Please change your tone because I can promise you Milan will get several offers in excess of $5M in the coming weeks.
I agree. I’m also confused because hearing all this crap about him not being a good defender? I’m not saying he’s Toure or Lipsey but thought he was pretty damn solid on defense
