Gut Punch

What conference makes the most TV revenue? The same one that has had 3 straight NCAAF championships? The same one that had 10 teams in the tournament,6 sweet 16, 4 elite 8? I’m calling it now. Not watching any teams from B$G in any sport. The system is broken beyond repair.
Iowa State Kentucky game was one of the highest ranked games.

Iowa has a once in a generation point guard. We will see how good they will be without him next year.
It will come down to recruiting. I think the coach is one of the best. Not sure if Iowa can hang onto him.

You're a Kansas fan, right? How high is McCollum on Kansas fans list when Self retires? Is it assumed the job will be handed to Vaughn?

Our hopes of going on a run we're basically dashed within 3 minutes of the entire tournament starting. That's not just random bad luck. Yes, injuries happen. But they actually do not happen in this capacity in this way all that often.

This past month literally could not gone any worse for our conference. Literally 3 of our top teams were eliminated from the national conversation via injuries. And that is really, really important. It's honestly crazy to even think about. Because this was a really important year for our conference to do really well. And when history reflects upon how the Big 12 "underperformed", there will be no mention of injuries or luck. College basketball got robbed of seeing Jefferson and Toppin playing into the 2nd and 3rd weekend, and NO ONE will remember or care.

And yes, this is life as little brother.

He'll be at Iowa for at least 5 years. He wouldn't have even left Drake after one season if it wasn't to go back home. He had a chance to leave Northwest for way bigger jobs for over a decade. I think he leaves Iowa for the NBA eventually. He is a lot like Brad Stevens

We all knew this was coming as soon as Jefferson rolled the ankle. Sweet sixteen was probably the cap for this team as it turned out to be. There is always a team like NC state who gets hit and has a path randomly open up to them. Iowa just got lucky to be that team this year.
Iowa beat the #1 and #4 seeds…

don't forget Richie Saunders, BYU was a top 10 team with him

There’s about 20 threads on that subject right now, so nobody knows. There is a thread on McCollum alone. A lot of people like him, including me. Latest rumor is the #1 player is going to commit to KU at McDs game and that would give KU the top class and most likely Self would stay to coach them.
