I'm a big Quan Johnson guy, make it happen TJ!

============

Is Josiah Harrington in this incoming freshmen class, like he'll be on the team next season? Or not until the season after next?

Not this coming season, the season after.

Obviously his size would present some limitations on the defensive end in the Big 12, but Jaquan Johnson would be a monster add. Good shooter, good assist/turnover/steal rates. Would go a long way to filling the Lipsey void that will be left.

Exactly. I'm not sure why there's this notion that Iowa State guys aren't getting really healthy checks.

I get that everything has levels but Iowa State isn't poor, regardless of what Jamie wants everyone to believe.
CF NIL mention rules per ISU:

1) ISU is the poorest team in the P-4 by a long shot.

2) The top 10-15 recruiting classes TJ keeps landing and high level additions from the portal all give us the now infamous "Home Team Discount" and play for peanuts. And this applies to JR in football as well obviously.

3) All of our best players and coaches in football and hoops will leave for supposed greener pastures. This of course hasn't happened but an outlier like Hunter and the Campbell deal become the "see, I told you so" doomsday scenarios come to life.

I'll lead by saying I know nothing about him other than what I see here.

- It's odd for the first clip of a highlight reel is a banked in 3
- He seems to be able to absorb contact and doesn't mind getting in the paint
- Great stats and seems to be a solid all-around guard

That being said, 5'9" is small in the Big XII and Bradley didn't exactly play a murderer's row in the Valley. Has anyone seen him match up against larger physical guards? I don't write him off as there are examples of shorter guards being really successful, but height and length are important in a lot of our matchups. If a bigger guard can back you down, it's problematic. And it's hard to pass out of a double team when you're giving up 6-7 inches on someone guarding you.

No way we grab a 5’7 guard. Would be baffling

First, Bully is a great kid, is going to fit anybody's culture and plays his ass off all the time. Definitely not afraid to take charge and call guys out when he doesn't think they're playing hard enough.

As for his game, he's a really, really good defender even when he's giving up a few inches. Uses his upper body strength really well and moves his feet effectively so he doesn't get caught reaching. Offensively, he's super streaky but effective until length gets to be a problem for him. UNI and Murray were the two 'longest' teams on the wing in the Valley and, not surprisingly, the two teams he struggled against the most (17, 11, 9 against UNI and 16, 4 against Murray). Does have the tendency to get a little impatient in the half court especially if he's setting guys up and they aren't making shots.

I absolutely believe he can contribute on a P5 roster next year and I actually think he's a pretty decent fit at Iowa State depending on the price.

Now that TJ has the program established and he gets to be selective with his recruiting really feels like he is after the bigger extremely physical guards and big men with extremely quick feet that can defend on the perimeter.

If we have everyone back who has eligibility left, and if Mason Williams is a Big 12-level reserve/role-player at least, and if we get from among freshman and transfers (i) a mobile big and (ii) a guard who can handle the ball and shoot a little, I think that's a real good team next year.

Quite a few "ifs" though!

They need to target some bigs in the portal. ISU is slated to return Toure, Batemon, Williams, Milan (unless he turns pro), Buchanan, and Pleta.

There are 4 incoming freshmen (2 centers, a PG, and a SG). I don’t know enough about these players and who may be in the rotation for next season. But generally the bigs take a year or two to develop more physically before seeing playing time, but there are exceptions

I think Pleta has potential to develop much more. He made an unbelievable pass last night. Hopefully he can routinely make those kinds of plays and develops his offensive game where he can extend the defense out

But they need another big or two who can step in right away into the rotation. I would greatly prefer them to target the 4/5 position than the 1-3 positions in the portal

I am hoping Xavier Mitchell will have a great year. I have high hopes for him and the Cyclones.
